Mercerean gave a card party yesterday afternoon at her cozy home, 109 Watauga avenue. The decoration was in honor of Ireland's patron saint and the sham rock was in evidence everywhere. Five Hundred was indulged in and several tables were fitted. Three ladies cut for the prize, a lovely brass flower basket, and it was won by Miss Roma Eiseman. A salad course, in the form or a ereen Irish potato, green mints and nuts were pleasingly served. Mesdames Brading and Wofford Entertain. Yesterday afternoon Mrs. P. II. Wofford and Mrs. J. E. Brading entertained at the home of the home of the latter, 122Unaka av- enuc. The home was a veritable Emerald Isle. One division being devoted to shamrocks, one to the pipe and one to the pie. Mesdames James A. Summers and ohn A. Muse invited the guests in to luncheon and Misses Fay White side, Nettie Wallen and Audrian Hite served green ices in potato form and white cake with green icing, nuts and green mints following. The dining table carried a rich cut glass vase fitted with green carnations. The guests passed from the dining room into the drawing j room, where Mrs. Allen Harris, Misses Angeline Wofford and El eanor Exum served delicious punch.
