The second degree was conferred up on two applicants in very goodstyle. The new officers show promise of splen did work. The Grand Master's official visit to this lodge on Friday, the 21st inst., at 2 p. m. was read and discussed and it was decided by the lojge to request that the 2 p. m. be changed to 1 p. m., it being to the interest to all concern ed as the Grand Master by the 2 p. m. appointment had only about thirty min utes for entertainment as the train leav es Algood about 3 p. m. for Livingston and his next appointment is at Living ston the 21st inst. at night. The Grand Secretary is now conva lesant after 2 weeks spell of sickness. - Bro. I . W. McCluen, P. G., will in stall the officers elect of the Rebekah Lodge next Monday night- It is desir ed that all entitled should attend, a good time is promised . , AH members should attend the next meeting as "there will be ; interesting business transacted. " ' - - Shoots at Engineer : Engineer Jesse E. Johnston of the Tennessee Central had a narrow es cape from death one day last week. In going out over the Crawford branch his train ran over a cow belonging to Robt. Coleman, and when the train was re turning to Monterey Coleman, who was in waiting, fired both barrels of a shot gun at Johnston.
