Thompson of the Eighth dis trict was killed this afternoon by the accidental discharge of his shotgun. We have not heard any particulars other than that Mr. Thompson was out rabbit hunting and in some man ner the gun was shot off. We would be glad if they would all pay up and non be dropped on the 31st Inst. Statements have just been sent out and every brother now knows his standing. Some few. seems, prefer to drag, always want to know how much it will take to keep from being dropped. It takes the full amount to be entitled to ben efits in next term. The Baxter local ship of the Sailors was organized Wednesday night The full crew were on hand and elected the following officers to man the ship during the first period of six months: Captain, Will F. On Monday night, th 14th, the work in the Sailor's degree was instituted, Sailor Ralph Wirt being Instructed In j the mysteries of this degree.
