Sleep 'is nature's re building period, when the energy used by the brain, muscles and organs is re newed. If you lose sleep, your system is robbed of the strength sleep should give. Continued loss of sleep multiplies this loss until you become a phys ical wreck. Dr. Miles' Nervine quiets the irri tated nerves and brings refreshing, invigorating sleep. Nervine contains no opiates, and therefor leaves no bad after-effects. "For over two yearn T suffered un told affonlss; ny friends thought I ivas going crazy. I could not sleep nor rest at nil. I tried different doc tors, but failed to find relief. My , head would ache all the time; I was like one drunk; could not concentrate my mind, and was so restless and worried thnt sleep was out of the question. After taking one bottle of Ir. Miles' Nervine I felt wonderfully changed. I am now cn my third bot tle and am gaining all the time. I can lie down and sleep like a child, nd am able to do my work." MRS. Hickory Grove School Closes. i WHITWELL, Tenn., Dec. 6. -The I public school in the 2ml District of I Marion comity on the eat side of Big I Seqnin-hee river, was out Thursday of lHNt week nftrr 4' j months of very 'Hncesseful school, under the NuperviMon 1 of Miss Sallie Jenkins of Hillsboro. ! Miss Haltie is a splendid teacher, be ing skillful in the art of teaching. She ; believes kindnens to bn the best school i i governor, and by it she won the hearts j i of her pupils, therefore it gave them : I pleasure to obey her rules. Thursday ! lust was a sad day for Miss Sallie and J her students, as they reaii zed that it was sad for friends to part. Tears , stole gently down the cheeks of many i of her pupils when she bade them 1 adieu. Had voices were beard saying, ! "Come back and teach for us again ! next year, Miss Sallie." There was i truly a great interest manifested in the j school both by patrons and students, ' as was shown by a considerable num ' ber of pupils not missing n day and in terest the pnpls have shown in home ' study since the expiration of the term : of school. I haven't gone into the homes of any of tbe patrons since the j school was out but what I have seen the pupils busily engaged at their text ! books. The morning following the ! closrt of the school term at the first whistle of the Whitwell Power Plant, one little white-headed boy of 9 years, rose from his bed, built a lire, got his books and proceeded to study them. When his father awoke, he was much surprised and elated to see his little son up so early and so deeply and in tensely interested in his books. All patrons nnito in expressing them selves as well pleased with Miss Sallie's work as teacher, and the progress their childen havo made during the school. The interest and attendance of the school steadily increased, so that the attendance was larger at the close of the term than at the outset, notwith standing ten pupils were out on ac count of sickness, and othjr unavoid able causes. The Hickory Grove school closed with by far the largest attendance of any of the three schools in the eastern part of the 2nd district. The riick s Chapel school, which is the central school between Hickory Urove and Looney s Creek, closed one week earlier on account of the atten dance being below the minimum. WATCHMAN. Clifty.
