News from Mr. M. Glasscock in Chi
cago received here this week is that his
daughter, Mrs. C. H. McNeill, has sur
vived a surgical operation and is grad
ually recovering. The operation was
said to be successful in every respect
and the patient in fine condition.

Colonel Saml.'D. Woosley left yester
day morning with nearly a thousand
Sunday-school picnickers for an annual
outing at Jackson. The dinkey and the
special were both brought into requisi
tion. All thq Sunday schools were
represented, and it is very likely that
tb a people along the route and at Jack
son will be impressed with the fact that
Union City is a Sunday school town.

friends last Saturday , by getting mar
ried to Miss Grace Starr, one of Tipton
ville's charming daughters. They will
visit relatives and friends in this city
for a few days.

Mr, Harry Naylor, living two miles

day for appendicitis by Pr. Nailling.
He is being looked after by Pr. Nail
ing's surgical nurse, Mrs Roedecker,
and is reported as doing exceedingly
well.
