The marriage of Miss Marguerite Whitson and Mr. William Hynes Slaughter was solemnized at the home of the bride's parents Wednes day evening at 6 o'clock. B. Ward, nee Miss Edna Anderson, of Patterson, Cal. After dinner Five Hundred and Rook were employed as games and time rose on gossamer wings. Miss Irene Roper and Mr. Horace Martin Gray were married at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Roper in this city last Sunday afternoon, Rev. W. B. Cunningham officiating. Mr. Gray left this county, near Harris, some years ago and went-to New Mexico. He enlisted with the forces for overseas and has been home from France but a short while. The happy couple left Tuesday for Mexico where they will make their future home. They are well known in this city and in the section around Harris and carry to their western home the best wishes of a large number of good friends. Music Club. Mrs. E. W. Youngblood was hostess of the music club this week in a very interesting entertainment Wednes day afternoon. 500 Party. Miss Lola Harper entertained on Wednesday afternoon with a 500 party in honor of Mrs. W. H. David son, of Memphis. The visitors. Miss Pauline Caldwell of Nashville, Mrs. C. T.
