Mr. and Mrs, Bradley and family are enjoying a vacation visit in Kansas and Western points. Mr. McDearmon is one of the old-time telegraph . operators. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cross and daughter came over last .week from Blytheville, Ark., in -their touring car, finding good roads and bad roads and a season of rain in spot3. Mr. Cross says tha"t the State of Ar kansas is establishing a uniform sys tem -of wide roads in that State and giving special attention to the Im provement of the highways. Mrs. T. C. Smith, West Tennessee prison workeiy of Jackson, was here last week visiting the Jail. She has some kind word3 for Sheriff Cherry and his management of the Jail. The jail was found to be in most , excel lent sanitary condition. The prison ers were cheerful and appeared to be enjoying care andCleanliness. They report being well .cared for and re ceiving the kind attention of Mr. Cherry. Good for the sheriff and the county Jail. - " A HtUe homo gathering occurred at the home of Mr. 'and Mrs T. A. Warren on Lilac street Saturday. Dr. I. Glosson is now the owner and proprietor of the Wilbanks beard ing house on West Church street, having bought the property. Mrs. Wilba'nks, after a score or more of years, retires to her home across the street. She gave the city and ounty during the time that she personally conducted the business, one of the very best and at the same time one of the most widely known boording places in West Tennessee. She was exceptionally liberal with her guests and they in turn never failed to praise Mrs. Wilbanks.
