Welcome to Prince George’s Returned Soldiers All residents of Prince George’s Coun ty and all persons interested in Prince George’s County, former residents and others, are cordially invited to join in the welcome to be extended by Prince George’s County to her sons who served in the Great War, and in honoring the memory of those who did not return, on Tuesday, October 7th, 1919, at Up per Marlboro. The exercises will be gin promply at 11 o’clock A dinner will be given and served by the ladies of the County, on the lawn of the Marlboro Hotel, to all who weie in the U. S. service during the war, soldiers, sailors, marines, nurses, yoewomen; to all in the service. The events of the day will include the dedication of the bronze tablet; the laying, with impressive ceremonies, of the corner stone of the memorial to be erected to Prince George’s heroes who did not return, interesting addresses by noted men, a street pageant and procession, and many interesting fea tures. Let Prince George's County make of Tuesday October 7th, a holiday; bring your baskets and your families, and spend the day in Marlboro and show our County’s heroes the honor that is their due. Especially, it is earnestly desired that every one from this County who was in the service during the war be present and partake of the dinner that will be prepared for them, and take part in|the exercises in their honor and in commemoration of their dead. To the Voters of Prince George’s Coun ty: I wish to thank you for the splendid majority I received in the recent Prim aries. I can assure you I am extremely grateful and appreciative, and if you see fit to elect me as one of your Dele gates in the Election in November, I will promise to give honest conscienti ous service, and will handle all meas ures and matters that may coine before me, in a fair impartial manner, with tl e purpose of dealing justly, fairly and squarely with the interests of each and every person in the County. In the Rotogravure Section of next Sunday’s Washington Star will be two pages of wonderful pictures of tbs parade of the Ist Division in Wash ington- The feature is a remarkable photograph of Gen. Pershing riding up Pennsylvania avenue at the head of the procession. —ln addition to the free exhibition of Stereoptieon views to be given Sat urday evening, September 27th, at Westphalia school house, there will an address by Mr. McLachliu relating to j the Tobacco Growers Association. The talk will be of especial interest 'to the farmers as it will explain the need of organization. It is to be largely at tended. —The Marlboro’ High School opened with an increased attendance.
