BUSINESS GROUP TO
MEET MONDAY NIGHT
Hagerstown Business and
Industrial Asso. Active
With Their Program
Dr. J. Hubert Porterfield, president of
the Hagerstown Business and Industrial
Association announced today that J. (.
Eppinger, of Chambersburg, would be
the principal speaker at the regular
meeting of the organization on Monday
night. The meeting will be held at the
Hotel Hamilton.
The new association, formed some
months ago has been very active since its
organization and has done considerable
work toward bringing new industries to
Hagerstown. At the present time they
are in communication with several large
companies, now located in New York
State, who have expressed their desire
to move their plants to locations where
foreign-born labor is at a minimum.
This ecity, according to a recent sur
vey has many advantages, especially in
the labor and electric power fields, and
it is from this angle the local organiza
tions are making their bids to prospeective
industries.
The Industrial Association, which
started with less than a dozen members,
now boasts of a membership of approxi
mately 100 business and professional
men, and to this roster new names are
being added each week.
