6 Folk Dancers Purchase More American Records Current record purchases of the Greenbelt folk dance group Include five American dancest "lady of the lake," "Durang's Hornpipe," "Pop Goes the teasel," "Soldiers' Joy" and a new Virginia Reel. The folk dance enthusiasts hope to obtain a complete collection of the Victor Company's "Physical Educa tion Folk Dances," of which there are about 100, of Danish, Ehglish, Swedish, German, Belgian, Hungarian, French, Scotch and American nationality. The Green belters have about SO of these at present. The dance repertoire of the group now includes the Virginia Reel, various schottisches, Down in the Paw paw Patch, The Ace of *damonds, Little Man in a Fix, old-fashioned American and Viennese waltzes, and waltz quadrilles. Square dances performed by the en thusiasts are Pop the Cyster, Red River Gal, Sally Goodman, Chase the Squirrel, aid Swing Like Thunder. These are all American. The best time to learn the various dances is early in the evening, say leaders George Tretter and Howard Custer. The sessions are held in the Junior Recrea tion Hall Saturday evening from 9 to 12. Berenberg left Saturday afternoon for Detroit, Michigan id*re he will spend a week attend ing the sixty-ninth annual meeting of the American Public Health Association. The Program Committee has indicated that many of the talks will deal with the problems of maintaining and extending public health work "where hunan life is still valued" des pite the effects of i the war upon other phases of life in the United States. Dr. Berenberg is most interested in attending the meetings devoted to Health Education problems in order to improve that aspect of the work of the local Department of Health. S. 3urrhnse of Philadelphia is spending some time with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr, and Mrs. Harry Pleisher. • Miss Elizabeth Yuretich attended the wedding of her brother, Frar. kR. Yuretich, to Miss Marion E. Brown, which took place on Sunday, October 6 in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Benefiel returned on October 7 from Indiana. Their trip was made necessary due to the death of Mr. Benefiel's father. With the exception of one fanily, the entire court of 58 Crescent Road could hold a third year anniver sary party this month. Eleven of the twelve families living there are residents of three years' standing. Mr. Louis Oerstel arrived home October 2 fran the hospital, where he underwent a major operation. Mrs. Gertrude Brermon, operator at the Greenbelt Beauty Shop, is recuperating the Greenbelt Hospital from an emergency appendectomy. Mr. and Mrs. Don flagstaff returned last week from a vacation trip which took them to the west coast and into Canada. They spent several weeks at the home of Mrs. tagstaff in Riverside, Utah and at Mr. Wag staff's home in Salt Lake City.
