Word was received that Joseph Ostendorf passed away Monday evening and the funeral will be held from St. Boniface church at Melrose Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. John Dinkel and Mrs. Henry Brever and children, of Long Prairie, spent Tuesday after noon at the C. F. Botz home. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kortan re ceived a telegram Monday stating that their brother-in-law, William Jirak. was very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Kortan and son, Steve, left Tues day morning for Fort Aitkinson, lowa, to be at his bedside. Mrs. Jake Key, Mrs. Emma Ste wart and Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Botz spent Sunday afternoon at the Ed. McGown home at Melrose. Mr. and Mrs. Will Sieben, Mrs. Ben Kamphake, Mrs. Stewart, Mrs. Jake Key, Mrs. Mike Boel and Mrs. C. F. Botz. The deceased was a sister of Mrs. Ed. McGown and Mrs. Fay Huston. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Huber spent Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Walker. Miss Ruth Botz spent from Sat urday till Monday with Margaret Bromenschenkel. Grocery store, after spend ing the past ten months helping Mr. Wiener on the milk route. Lawrence, Arnold and Ervin Tank attended a Valentine party on Friday evening in the church basement. They are testing cattle for T. B. in this community this week. Mrs. Paul Wilcox called on Mrs. Howard Wilcox and Mrs. Henshaw in Sauk Centre last Wednesday af ternoon. A large number from this com munity attended the dance at the club house a week ago Wednesday evening. Everyone reported a good time.
