ASKOV Friends here report that Mrs. Chas. Oberg is improving very nicely at Fairview hospital, Minneapolis, after having a large tumor removed a week ago Monday. She expects to be home again in a few days. The P. T. A. will present a pro gram to the public Friday night, April 19, at 8 o’clock. The principal speak er of the evening will be Dr. H. E. Levin. After the program, lunch will be served to those in attendance. The public is cordially invited to attend. C. W. Heilman and son, Reuben, from southwest of Finlayscn, were business callers in Askov Tuesday. While in his best years Mr. Heilman is nevertheless a pioneer of Pine county, having spent 30 years here. He is a breeder of Guernsey cattle and has some good stock on his place. He is advertising a sire for sale. On account ol the impassable roads the Community club membership drive party scheduled for last night was postponed. It is now proposed to have it on Wednesday evening, April 24 just one week later than the original date and it is hoped that con ditions will be more favorable at that time, for it is very much desired to have a capacity attendance. A letter was received the past week from F. H. Tomlinson, stating that they had purchased a residence at 3044 Thirty-second ave. south, Min neapolis and will move to that ad- dress Friday. They invite Askov friends to call on them in their new home. It will be remembered that the Tomlinsons were former residents of Askov while Mr. Tomlinson was engaged here in the interest of the Farm Cost Accounting route. A. F. Forsyth and Frank Devall from Norman township, were here Monday to take home a potato dig ger which they purchased at an auc tion last fall. Mr. Forsyth who has taken to Holstein cattle the last few years, purchased a good sire to head his herd and is developing a fine grade of cattle. He takes a great in terest in his stock, likes to show them to visitors and is naturally proud of the herd he has developed in a few years. Frede Stottrup who is crippled up with rheumatism and x confined to his home, is so far improved that he en joyed a little outing with his family Sunday at the home of their neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Sigurd Stovring, the occasion being Mrs. Stovring's birth day. Mr. Stottrup seated in his wheel chair was put on a stone boat and with two calm horses at the head was thus transported to the neighbors. During the afternoon he felt well enough to do some reading for the friends and neighbors assembled. The outing was much enjoyed by Mr. Stot trup and he also felt very good the day following. His friends were glad to see him in such high spirits.
