(Dec. 26—Jan. 9) CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION ASKOV-BARR CORPORATION We, the undersigned, for the purpose •of forming a corporation under, pur suant to and by virtue of the laws of the State of Minnesota, do hereby asso ciate ourselves as a body corporate and do hereby adopt the following Certifi cate of Incorporation. The name of this corporation shall be and is ASKOV-BARR CORPORATION. The objects and nature of the busi ness of this corporation shall be and are solely the canning of vegetables. The time for the commencement of this corporation shall be December 23. 1929. and the period of its duration shall be thirty years from the and after said date. The principal place of business for transaiding the business of this corpo ration shall be at the City of Askov, •County of Pine. Minnesota. The stockholders of this corporation may adopt all necessary By-Laws, rules and regulations for the management of its affairs and may delegate any addi tional powers to its Board of Directors not otherwise specifically given. They returned Wednesday evening. Howard spent the week with his sister, Mrs. Harry Gilliver, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Thompson were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Pemble tou Wednesday of last week. Louis Walter and Cecil Pembleton who have been working in Napoleon, Ohio, returned Saturday. The electric light company has completed its construction of poles and wire to the farms of John and Carl Gluesing, and they will have the benefit of modern lighting and other conveniences after the first of the year. Vai Szack, who is spending the winter here, visited his son, Salvester Szack and family over the holidays last week, returning Friday. John Gluesing went to Sandstone Friday on business. Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Prachar’s oldest son, Henry, was taken very ill Friday morning with Hernia. Dr. W. C. Ehmke advised removal to the Uni versity hospital, where he was taken on the 10:30 train and operated soon after arriving. He is recovering very nicely. His mother accompanied him. Edward and Charles Maxine of Jamestown, N. D., came Friday to spend their vacation here with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Miller. They will return in time for school. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pross of Omaha, Nebr., visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bohaty, living east of town. They came Saturday .of last week and left Thursday. Miss Clara Nortrup came here from St. Paul and spent Christmas day at home with her family. She left late Wednesday night. Fred Amell, who is working for J. C. Campbell, who has a contract to log off sixteen forties of government, state and Backus-Brooks, the North ern Timber company lands, spent Christmas day at home. He is work ing out of Cascade and has a large crew of men under his supervision. Mrs. Frank Peters, Seal sale di rector, broke the record by putting the seal sale higher than ever before. Christmas programs were given by the village school, community club, Presbyterian church, midnight mass at St. Mary’s church, and a show’ and Santa Claus at the Parish hall. The Legion decorated a tree, and every home observed the great holiday. Mrs. John Polivka left last Thurs day to spend a while with relatives in the Twin Cities. She will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Schon. Miss Adeline Stalman of Minne apolis, was here over Christmas with her uncle and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Whiting and son Ellis. Louise, Florence, and Viola Ahl brecht came here from St. Paul Tues day to spend the holidays with their parents. They were accompanied by Joe and Frank Weid, the boys re turning the same day. Chas Swanson, daughters Edith and Viola, and son, Merle, of Windemere, visited at Ole Nyrud’s Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Olson of Stur geon Lake, visited Ole Nyrud’s and Dad Olson’s last Thursday evening. Claire Whiting and daughter, Blanche, left Friday night and drove to Alexandria, to attend the funeral of Win. Maas, father of Mrs. Claire Whiting, which took place Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Whiting was unable to make the trip. Mr. and Mrs. John Gluesing, who THE IS HERE Display In Our Show Room. were married at Emma, Wis., Dec. 28th, 53 years ago, are both hale and hearty. They have lived on their farm west of the village for over a quarter of a century and have raised a large family, all of whom are liv ing. Carl Gluesing, one of the sons, bought land near his father’s and has developed a fine farm. Chris is work ing the home place. CLOVERTON * (From Another Correspondent) Roy Lewis, Emmett Ruddell, and son, Junior, from Duluth, spent Sun day at the parental C. J. Lewis Irome. Miss Alfreda Seilitz came here from Weblake, Saturday, to spend the Christmas vacation with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. A. Seilitz. Mrs. Floyd Snell had a serious at tack of appendicitis Friday and Sat urday night. Wm. Chapman is putting up ice for Mr. Hughes. Wilbur Ireland loaded a car of household goods Saturday, to be ship ped to Clam Falls, where he will make his home. Miss Martha Green is on the sick list. The new’ officers of the Cloverton Sunday school were elected Sunday. The new officers for the coming year are.—Harry Clapper, superintendent; H. L. Hughes, assistant superinten dent; Gladys Halsted, secretary; Mrs. James Taylor, pianist. Miss Lydia Ott was seriously hurt one day last week, while sliding down the hill back of Mr. Holler’s place. L H. Billington called on Mr. Hale Saturday. Miss Lucile Haug of Pine City, is spending a few days with her grand mother, Mrs. A. Sperling. Miss Margaret Holler sprained the ligaments in her arm while out slid ing Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Vaughn and Harold Rutherford spent Sunday at the Otto Haack home. James Taylor is on the sick list. Paul Pahos and family of Markville, spent Sunday afternoon w’ith his brother, Jim Pahos. Mrs. Herbert Tollefson and chil dren, Mrs. G. Austin and little daugh ter, spent Sunday fit the Marion Nelson home. Floyd and Mildred Austin spent Sun day afternoon with Lenora Gaul. Walter Reinke and Chester Munson from Belden, spent Christmas with their folks. Miss Bertha Lewis spent Sunday afternoon with Violet and Margaret Holler. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fortier enter tained the Carroll family Christmas day. Louie Willie arrived home Monday evening of last week, from. Kansas City. Miss Winifred Buggje came from Minneapolis to spend Christmas with home-folksi. Miss Rosemary Dignan came from the city to spend a holiday vacation at her parental home. Mr. and Mrs. R. V. McAllister re ceived word Friday evening that their son, Robert, who is attending Dun woody Institute in Minneapolis, had been taken to the hospital with a well developed case of the measles. Mrs. Algof Mattson and baby, Mrs. Orrie Tucker and son and Mrs. Ben Youngquist and children, all spent Christmas day at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Rogers. The former two visited until Sunday. Mrs. Youngquist and children visited at the Ed Youngquist home a few days also. Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Greenwald and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anderson were Christmas day guests at the Oscar Anderson home. Earle Rogers came here from Min neapolis Christmas eve and will spend a month at his parental home. The Misses Marie and Anna Callio are spending a two weeks vacation here at the home of their mother. Mr. nd Mrs. Art Meidlinger and baby w’ere dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Anderson Christmas day. Leonard Hoglund came here .from Minneapolis Tuesday evening of last week. He was accompanied by the Misses June Duncan and Janice Caroil and Kenneth Carroll. All re turned the evening of the twenty-fifth except Miss Janice, who visited at her mother’s home until Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Faudskar and baby and daughter, Ardyce, were din ner guests at the Lingren home at Bruno Christmas day. Andrew Metsala of Minneapolis, visited from Saturday until Christmas day at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kuk kola. F. O. Kukkola of St. Paul, visited over Christmas at the Wm. Norlund and Emil Kukkola homes. Mrs. Emil Kukkola left Sunday for a few days’ visit at the home of her father in Minneapolis. Miss Alice Metsala arrived Tuesday of last week from Minneapolis, to spend Christmas at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kukkola, returning to the city Thursday morning. Christmas dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kukkola were. Miss Alice Metsala, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Norland, Andrew Metsala, and Frank Kukkola. The Catholic Guild will be enter tained at the home of Mrs. J. H. Arth Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9. A cordial invitation is extended to all. Miss Hilda Mattson left Saturday for Minneapolis to spend a few days with her sister, Mamie, in the city before returning to her duties as teacher in one of the Virginia city schools; Miss Matson had been spendl - her Christmas vacation here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Matson. Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Willie spent Friday evening at the McAllister home. W. H. Peterson of Algona, lowa, came to spend Christmas with his family at the Bowers home. He left last Thursday morning to make a short visit with his parents at Fair mont, before returning to Algona. We wish to correct an item which appeared »in this column recently. Mrs. Olga Olson was buried in Wis consin instead of Dakota. Her brother Albert Edberg, of Duluth, was with her when she passed away. The Esse children are recovering from an attack of chicken-pox. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Smith enter tained the Oscar Bergseth family at Christmas dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Gifford Carman and family were guests of Mrs. Carman’s mother, Mrs. Arne Anderson, Christ mas day. Mrs. Anderson’s son, who is a captain and stationed in Florida, sent her and Mrs. Carman each a basket of Satsuma oranges and a basket-of pecans for Christmas, which they have enjoyed very much, the fruit tasting much different when fully ripened on the trees. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bishop will en tertain the Lynn Smith family on New Year’s day. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Samuelson and little son were guests on Christmas day at the Nyberg home. Mrs. Robert Edberg and her daugh ter and grandson came from South Dakota and spent Christmas with Mrs. Edberg. They left last Thursday. Albert Edberg of Duluth, was also visiting his mother during Christmas week. The Peace Lutheran Aid will hold their food sale in the lobby of the City hotel Saturday afternoon, beginning at 2 o’clock. All kinds of delicious home cooked foods will be on sale. Don’t forget the date, Saturday, Jan. 4th. Dr. Lester Shafer left Friday for Tower, after spending the holiday va cation at his home here. Mrs. John Arth entertained Mrs. H. Wickstrom and her daughter, Mrs. Earl Bloomquist, and Mrs. H. E. Shafer, Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Louie Willie and Mr. and Mrs. R. V. McAllister were very pleasantly entertained at the M. H. Nyberg home Saturday evening.. The Bankers’ Club will be entertain ed at the H. E.
