THE MARSHALL REPUBLICAN. Club Meeting. The T. Q. Club had a delightful meeting on Thursday afternoon with Mi I'' at her home on Capitol Hill, hours from 3 to 6. The object of this club of young ladies Is to have pleasure and from the way they have started in, we think they will succeed. Quite a musical program was rendered upon this afternoon, Misses Martha Ilea, Pa.inic Kin caid, Kmlly Illack and I'ranccs Francisco, being the musicians. A dainty luncheon was served by the hostess at four o'clock, con sisting of chicken salad, ham, Ro man punch, olives, celery and cheese straws. This Club has just twelve mem bers and our private opinion i, that it is the handsomest club In the city, not n plain looking girt in it, The following are the mem bers: Miss Agues Langati, Presi dent; Misses Hmlly and I-llcti Illack, I'lela King, Kslclle Dawes, Louise llryaut, Larue Camplivll, Martha Ilea. I'et Parrish, I'rances Francisco, t'auuie Kiucaid and I)cie Orcar. T. 0. Club. The T. Q. Club which has a mcmlcr.shipof twelve, is composed of some of Marshall's most inter esting young ladles and was organ ized at the home of Miss Agnes Langati on Tuc.sd.iy afternoon. This club had iu first regular meeting with the Misses Illack at their home on Highland, Thursday afternoon, Nov. lOth. The object of the club is to have a good tint and they certainly en jocd themselves immensely upon this occasion. The Misses Illack make charm ing hostesses and certpinly did everything to make the first meet ing of tlie club a 1110 jt pleasant one. A lovely luncheon of ham, hot biscuit, chicken salad, celery, olives and cake was served. The next meeting of the T. J. C'swilt be with Miss l'ct l'.irrish oa Capitol Hill. Dining on North Street. Mr and Mrs. G. M. Francisco entertained the Presbyterian min isters and others at an elegant din ner on Tuesday evening, at their home on North St. The hostess isoueof those thrifty housewives, who is not only thoroughly up to date in the culin ary department, but in everything pertaining to the managing and keeping of a hous:; aud a more genial and hospitable host and host ess could not have been found. The evening at their pleasant fire side, will long be remembered by this little company of friends, some of whom will vkjii leave Mar shall to take up their abode in n strange city. Sparks on Sunday, I when a family reunion was held. I Mrs. W. L. Hancock, the mother of Mrs. Snarks has been very ill j for some two weeks or more, at the home of her daughter and on Sun day, the mother being so much lietter, there was occasion for re joicing ami the children came down and seut the day. which will no doubt lie long remembered by the dear mother. Home Miitions. The oeu session of the Home Missionary Society ol the M. 15. Church South, on Sunday evening, was largely attended aud a most interesting programme was render cel. The meeting was ojened with player aud a reading of the Word, by Rev. J. W. Howell, the (ustor. Mrs, J. 1'. Huston led the meeting; the address by Mrs. N. 1. Norflect 011 the "Work of Home Mission Societies" was listened to with more than usual Interest. Colonel Horace A- Huchisou, of lloonvillc. who is Probate Judge of Coojier county, recited an original poem entitled "Pound in the Street," that was highly appreci ated. I.Ncellent music by the choir, and a rending, "Rescue the Perishing" by Mrs. Howell, finished the pro gramme for an. evening pleasantly aud most profitably sjient. Teacher's Meeting. Hall fell from the roof of Robert Ilea's home, where he was doing some repairing, and sprained his wrist very badly and the gen tleman remaining unconscious for some two hours, it was thought at first that he was seriously injured.
