Arkansas City, Kan., Jul v 30 -Mad Bear, Fearing Bear and Eli Shotwell, Pawnee Indiana, were here to night on the way from Pawnee. Ok., to Washington, where they are going to consult the authorities In regard to pensions which they have been trying to secure since 1894 Louis Bayhylle accompanied the par ty as interpreter. The service for which these Indians make their claim was performed in 1808 in the Sioux war. Tho Pawnees sided with the United States and many members of the tribe served the governmental scouts.
