The bill will lie against the West Tennessee Land Compamy, the present owner of the Reelfoot lake property, und all other claimants to title or interst in the same. A suit may be instiuted by the state later to set apart and establish Reelfoot as a common fishery and irame preserve for the people of Tennesseo, in whinh case condem nation nroceedinir will nave to be in stituted. The entire situation w; discussed at a conference recently held in Memphis, in which the governor, Gen. Cates and counsel tor the West Tennesseo Land Company partici pated, at which the prevent mode of procedure was mapped out. The Hayti Herald is not an "Organ," und not being such, we have the liber ty of free speech, andean accord equal justice and fairness to all. Honor and real manhood demands that public questions be treated in a public way, and not as a persontil matter. Each American citizen lias the right to his opinion and the right to express it, on public matters, but not publicly on private or personal matters. With the first issue of this paper we laid it down as a rule that all personal mat ters would lie settled out of print. We have since reiterated this, and reiter ate it again. So when you have a per sonal grievance against the editor of this paper, kindly remember that we are ready to adjust matters with you privately and don't let us have to re fresh your memory. The Hayti Her ald is for the general public, and not for any particular set or class. The Havti Herald is able to take care of itself against any odds in numbers or liars or bearers of false-witness but the Hayti Heralc will never lie person al, because it is contrary to honor and contrary to true manhood. It seems that the Cape News over did the thing a little recently in its ef forts to redicludo Congressman Crow. It'tried to make it appear that Mr. Crow hid out the day President Taft was at the Cape to keep from introduc ing him. The facts in the case are as follows: Mr. Crow was met at the boat by a democrat friend and hurried to a street car instead of an autmobile which was waiting for him. The street car did not get to the Normal School in time for Mr. Crow to introduce the President and Gov. Hadley did the stunt for him. The news tries to rub it in further by say ing that Congressman Thistlewood introduced the President at Cairo and Congressman Ollio James in troduced him at Hickman, neither of which statements are correct. Gov. Deneen of Illinois Introduced the President at Cairo and Governor Wilson introduced him at Hickman. Tlio news should learn that a false statement either peddled or published for the purpose of inj uring the standing of an individual always reacts in favor of the person in question when the truth is known. The American people uroonclined to want to bo fair. Tho above explaumtlon Is published in a spirit ot fairness to Congress man Crow, who feels that lie has not been treated fairly. It is not tho de sire of tho Ilayti Herald to deny any man, irrespective of of religion or politics, tho right to fair and im partial treatment, and having the highest regard for the honor and in tegrity of Mr. Crow, wo cheerfully published his vision of the uliuir. Do You Think More of Finances than You do Your Family? You insure your house and your barn, why not insure your life? lou realize what a misfortune it would lie if your property were totally destroyed and you had to suffer the entire finan cial loss. It would lieu loss you could ill afford, and perhaps it would be im possible for you o' continue in your present mode of living if you were de prived of this vuluublu possession. Why then do you not realize .rhsit a misfoituneit would be to your family should THKItt valuab e property YOU SELF, their breadwinner lie destroyed? Should death claim you and it WILL, sooner or later, maybe sooner--your loss would be ono your familv could ill afloru to sutler per- hnns vour children would fail to Bet an education, perhupp your wife would go to the washtub, p-rhaps your property would be sacrificed to pay a debt YOU are your family's most valuable possession, and YOU haven't a guaran tee that you are cuing to live a day. of course YOU don't expect to die for a long, long time. Most healthy people count on living indefinitely. Still, "you can never tell." If. and don't you forget the "if," you SHOULD die, then your borne and familv would be threatened, because their money-earner wouldn't bo there to protect them. Life is uncertain, but life insurance makes uncertainties CERTAIN. Old line life insurance is not only pood if you die, but it is good if you live. Ever think of it that way? It's a fact. Yot can not take out (ire insurance so you will receive nnv of your money back unless your property is destroyed; but you can take out a life insurance policy which will entitle you to the return not only of a porton of the money von put in, but all of it back. WHETHER YOU DIE OR NOT. It is better than ii Saving bank, because your money is there for you nnd you get your life insurance extra, free. This is the kind of insurance YOU ought to have and the kind I have lor you. If you will drop me a postal card I will gladly toll you all about it. Do it now. Don't wait until tomorrow. YOU may bo dead then, and dead people are worthless to themselves, their families and everybody. Today, now, is only yours. C. S. York, Cnruthersville, Mo. P. S.
