Davidson of the I. O. R. M. organized Lenowec Tribe at Portagoville last week. He re ceived a beautiful gold medal from the Great Council of Missouri for services rendered the order. Prof. Wm. Bray of Scott county, who is teaching school at Braggado cio, went out Sunday to resume school, wliich was dismissed for the cotton season. He will move his family to this county soon. J. R. Huffman of Huffman, lnd., who was in Ilayti last week, visiting hisdaughter, Mrs. B. L. GulTy, bought tho entire Pascola Lumber Co., mill lumber, timber, etc., that was sold at U. S. marshal sale. The mill is of 40,000 feet capacity, and the deal was a large one. "000 or 8000 feet of lum ber is on the sticks. In view of the fact that most people prefer to eat ilieir thanksgiving dinner witli home folks, the Ladies Aid de cided to abandon tho ideofservingon that day, and to have; instead, a special song erviee at tho church in the evening, with an appropriate sermon by the pastor, at which time a "free will offering" will be thank fully recei ved. Rev. R. T. Milnes, Supt. of tho Cbildrens' Home Society of Mo., paid our citv a visit one day last week, looking after the interests of this most important work. No work is more im portant than looking after the home less and neglected children. This so- coclety does that, and have received and cared for more than 2,800 of these little fellows. Every body should bo interested and help in this enterprise. After twelve years of married life, a little boy arrived Friday evening to bless the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Ravenstlon, but on Monday night, af ter a few brief hours in this world of love, laughter and song, sickness, sor row and death, tho Lord had need of the flower and taken it unto Himself. The bereaved parents have tho heart felt sympathy of their many friends. The "Biownio Girl," who gavo a very enjoyable entertainment, here last year, and one in which every body was pleased, will again ho hero Dec. 2. under tho auspices of the Public School.
