H YOUNG William H, Young died lit his home in Farmington Tuesday morn ing, October ft, WIS, aged til years, B montht and 18 days. Mr. Young had been airlifted for several years ami seldom left his home, where he was looked after ami cared for by his wlft and family, Ha was horn in Ste. (ienevjeve county April 14, 1851, and was a son of J allies M. and Susan Allen Young, and a grand -on of Btav, Harvey Young of the F Will Baptist Church, who was a native of Virginia and re BOVad to Missouri, locating In St. Frai is county, some time In the 'forties. Mr. Young was reared on a larm and educated in the common schools and ai ( arieton College, Septem ber Is. Is7' he married. Miss Mary Doss, daughter of the late William I'. Doss. To then nine children were horn, four sous unit live daugh ters, all of whom survive him. For a Ottmber of years he taught school, and in I8M look up the study of law He was admitted to the bar in ls., when he removed with his family to Farmington and engaged In the practice of that profeeeleq and in the real estate business. He took an active purt in politics and was elected in IS'.i-l to represent this coun ty in the State Legislature. He was a devoted buaband and father, a man ol upright and honorable ways in nil his dealings with his fallow man, and Ills generous Impultei made him many friends. Besides his bereaved wife and children, he lea vea one brother. J. Robert Young, several sisters and othei relatival, who have the sym pathy of a large circle of friends in that! sorrow. H A CANNING DEAD. Herbert A. Canning, who for sev eral years was associated with one of the lead interests at Flat Rlvi r and was favorably known to many of our people, died of ptomaine pois on at a hospital at Sallda, Colo., on the Zk inst. He was superintend ent ol the Mary Murphy mine at St. RlttO, Colo., and was oneof sev eral miners who were taken ill with ptomaine poisoning the day before his death.
