General Passenger Aient 530 Walnwrlght Building St Louis, Ma. Tickets on sale everywhere, via The Texas Panhandle. For some time we have been re ceiving; inquiries from investors, speculators and homeseekers asking: where we 'conld sell them good land at n low price and not desiring to take purchasers and sell them land in a country we knew nothing of we made a trip thru Kausas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico with a view of getting for sale the best lands in the best locations where we could offer the purchaser the best values for his money with- the greatest chance for increase in value and we have decided that the southern part of the Panhandle of Texas f fern the best inducements in cheap land to be bad anywhere we know of. In the Panhandle near the towns of Amarillo, Hereford and Texico we were shown land which cm be boueht for from $7.50 per acre op depending on the location with reference to the towns and the nnnlirv nf inmrovements. ThH enit nn this land IS from two to five feet deep, some black and some chocolate eoil. Near the town of Hereford water can be found at a depth of from 40 to 150 feet and a well can be bored and windmill erected at a cost of about $100. This land grows oats wheat, milo maize, kaffir corn, sorghum and some alfalfa. The average wheat yield for the past eight or ten years is 17 bushels per acre, we are informed. In some cases as high as 36 bushels to the acre has been raised. Oats will make from 35 to 60 bushels to the acre, while milo maize will make 40 to 60 bu. There is some corn raised in this locality altho at the present time there is not a great deal of corn grown. While in the Panhandle we purchased a section of land. We are associated with an immi gration company which has its own dining and sleeping car. a charge of 50c per night will be made for berth while yon are with the car. and you can either eat your meals on the car or not, just as you prefer. On Tuesday March 20th we will personally conduct a party of pros pective purchasers to Hereford via the Wabash to Kansas City, and from KanFas City over the Santa Fe. The rate for the ronud triD will be $16.60 and if you are interested in purchasing land where one good crop will pay for the land we wonld be more than glad to have you call aud let iu tell you about the country and let us arrange to have you accompany us. Last week there were six trains of ten coaches each going into this territory and the indica tions are that lands will advance very rapidly so don't delay but get ready to go with ns next week. For any information relative to this country call and see ns or write and ask us what you desire to know. Yours very truly, LAKENAN & BARNES. Mexico, Mo.
