HANDS WITH DR. GEORGE
FOX, NOV. 21ST, 1919.
According to report reaching the
Monitor office from different parts
of the city, Temple Beth-Kl will suf
fer the loss of a minister uml the
Jewish Monitor its editor, fur an in
definite time. Dr. (icorge Fox has
always had the desire to join the
Ancient Arabic Order, Noble of the
Mystic Shrine, although he realized
that he had n rcugh and rugged road
on which to travel. He realized that
the sands of the desert were hot. That
many pass nway while crossing them.
Only the best survive. Dr. Fox feels
that with the assistance of one of
Moslah's camels he can successfully
cross the hot sands of the desert. He
will do so on November 21st.
He will not be alone. Mr. Ernest
Marx, one of the greatest Riblical stu
dents of Fort Worth wished to take
advantage of the opportunity and
thinking that Dr. Fox being a minis
ter would afford hi in protection from
the beasts of the desert, will cross on
the same date.
Mr. Isador Davidson, knowing that
it is impossible for anyone to go on
a long journey without food, decided
to join the party, and will carry the
title of "Food-slinger" during the
Journey. Mr. Marx will furnish the
potatoes and onions.
The above mentioned three, realiz
ing that advertising is the greatest
sales force of the modem day, and
having a desire to make the under
taking more successful, mentioned
their proposed trip to Mr. Mitchell
W. Greenwall, the well known poster
advertising man, who agreed to her
ald the news broadcast of their trav
els, so that nil would know when it
was completed. He therefore consti
tutes the fourth member of the par
ty. Now, the (iiestion arose, we must
have transportation to the edge of tho
desert and Mr. nenry Landsman was
unanimously elected to join the party
and arrange all transportation facili
ties for the occasion. This completed
their plans for the proposed trip which
is to be started on the morning of
November 21st, 1919, and completed at
some future time thereafter.
Just before going to press word was
received from Mr. Herbert Joseph of
Dallas, that he would join the party
in order to make arrangements for all
hotel accommodtions. Mr. Joseph will
constitute the sixth member of the

save all the members of the party
from danger, as they will not save
The S. 0. F. and Miriam Club Ladies
Night at Y. M. II. A.
Monday night November 17, at 8:30
at the Y. M. H. A. gym, 819 Taylor
street has been designated by the
"Y" officials as S. 0. F. and Marian
Club night. On this night the Y. M.
H. A. will play the Y. M. C. A. volley
ball. This is one of the tournament
games which have been going on for
the past two weeks and interest is
keen therefore a fast game Is expect
ed. According to Director Freefield each
Y. M. H. A. member has promised to
escort one or more ladies to see the
and as the Y. M. C. A. men will bring
a large crowd of ladies a big time is
expected with a dance or hop on the
Gym floor after games. There is no
admission and the Y. M. H. A. extends
each and every one a hearty welcome.
A ROYAL ENTERTAINER.
Miss Ida Cohen proved a lovely
hostess at an affair given at her
home last week in honor of her house
guest. Miss Rose Kristal of Terrell.
The guests assembled in the living
room, where bunco was played, the
prizes going to Miss Rita Feinstein
and Mr. Marshall; the booby prize
to Miss Veil.
After a delightful spread, dancing
was indulged in.
The following declared Miss Cohen
a delightful hostess: Misses Rose

Miss Cohen was assisted in enter
taining by her mother and Mrs. Cohen.
Mr. R. Fuller, president of the
Rose SS Oil Company reports that
oil has been struck and expects the
well to be a 20(10 barrel a day.
Mr. R. Fuller is now in Wichita
Falls, looking after his oil interest.
RILLIKOPF LEAVES KANSAS
Jacob Rillikopf, for ten years head
of the Jewish Educational Institute of
Konsas City, has accepted the position
o fexecutive head of the Federation of
the Jewish Charities of Philadelphia.
This is one of the most important po
sitions in Jewish social work in the
country. Mr. Rillikopf, while head of
the Jewish activities in Kansas City,
was one of the organizers of the
Board of Public Welfare and organ
ized several of its activities. He left
Kunsus City two years ago to under
take the solicitation of the funds
needed for Jewish relief work in Po
land. Last spring he spent in Europe
as a member of a commission to in
vestigate conditions in connection with
"Seest thou a man dilligent in his
business? He shall stand before kings,
he shall not stand before mean men."
Prov. 22:29. It is the moral support of
capital back of him that gives the dil
ligent man dignity in the presence of
