The following report was present ed by the commissioners, of the exam ination of the books of the officers of Golden Valley County: We, the undersigned county com missioners of Golden Valley County report that we have made examinations of the accounts of the following named officers of said county, for the quarter ending April 1st, 1913, as required by law, to-wit:—Treasurer, Clerk of Court, Register of Deeds, County Judge, Auditor and Sheriff and sumbit the following report of such examina tions. Treasurer. We find by checking the receipts is sued by the Treasurer for taxes and other collections m'adc by him during said period that he has received the following sums: Taxes and miscellaneous col lections for Jany $ 4,744.38 Taxes and miscellaneous col lections for Feby 83,587.92 Taxes and miscellaneous col lections for March 2,266.66 Total Collections $90,598.96 Paid out as per cancelled vouchers 23,267.66 Balance on hand April 1st$67,331.30 We further find that the vouchers paid since April 1st, together with the cash in banks and in office, less the amount received by him, checks up with the above balance, namely $67, 331.30. Clerk of Court. We find from an examination of the books of the Clerk of Court that he has collected the following fees from the 1st day of January to the 1st day of April, 1913, to-wit: Filing cases in the district court $61.00 Filing and docketing judg ments 35.00 Filing 63 Mechanics liens at $1.00 each 63.00 Approving Notary bonds 1.00 Filing Notary Commissions. 4.50 Clerks Certificates 1.50 Affidavits 2.25 Total fees collected $168.25 By amount over paid in Dec. .50 Treasurers rcce'pls to balance 167.75 Total $168.25 Register of Deeds. We find that the Register of Deeds has collected fees during the period by this examination, as follows: Filing 798 chattel mortgages, seed liens & etc. at 25c .$199.50 Recording 150 satisfactions at 50c each 75.00 Recording 101 assignments at 75c each 75.75 Recording 62 patents at $1.00 each 62.00 Recording 299 Mortgages at $1.25 each 373.75 Recording 136 deeds and other instruments at $1.50 each. 204.00 Recording 4 miscellaneous in struments at $1.75 each... 7.00 Recording 1 miscellaneous in struments at $2.00 each. 2.00 Recording I miscellaneous in struments at $2.50 each... 2.50 Total receipts of office. .$1,001.50 'That treasurer's receipts for the above sum are on file with the auditor. County Judge. We find that the County Judge has properly accounted for all fees col lected by him in the discharge of his duties and has paid same into the county treasurer as evidenced by re ceipts filed with the Auditor. County Auditor. We find that the Auditor has ac counted for all fees received by him and that he has turned same into the hands of the treasurer as shown by the treasurer's receipts on file. We further find that all warrants is sued by him agree with the amounts shown to have been allowed by the commissioners and as further shown by the original claims filed with the auditor. Sheriff. We find that the sheriff has prop erly accounted for all fees received by him in criminal, cases and so far as we are able to ascertain, has ac counted for and paid into the hands of the treasurer all fees collected by him in civil cases. We do not appear to find any book or record showing the character of instruments served by him in civil actions, or the amount received for such services other than his fee book. The ambunt reported by him as having been received agrees with the total shown by said fee book and treasurer's receipts for such pay ments are on file in the auditors office.
