COVELL RAINEY BUTTE, N. DAK. Republican Candidate for Representative Golden Valley, Billings and Bowman Counties THE OFFICE OF COUNTY JUDGE. The office of County Judge is an important one. I have seen in my active practice of law for twenty-five years several estates wasted, squandered and the heirs deprived of their rights, simply through the ignorance and inefficiency of the Judge who had charge of the probating of them. I am a candidate for the office of County Judge on the Republican ballot at the June primaries, for Golden Valley County and pledge the voters, if nominated will bring to the office, not only my term of years in handling probate matters, as and elected, I experience for a long a thorough business experience, which is a very essential quah fication for a County Judge to have. Burkey and Williams country last Mon dav. After the storm had passed fully three inches of hail covered the ground, but the damage was not great because the grain was so short that it will recuperate and still make a full crop, al though it will probably be a cou ple of weeks later than it other wise wculd have been, Oscar Swan brought in a sample of rheubarb, clover and alfalfa that was struck by the storm and it was certainly badly shredded. Burkey people have recently erected a large new town hall and it was thought that a fitting way to dedicate the new building would be by giving a dance for the benefit cf the baseball team of that place, so this was done on 1 uesday evening of this week. Burkey has a good ball team that is worthy of support—and the support was most generously giv en at this grand opening ball. The hall was so crowded that dancing was difficult—but every body had a good time anyway- People were present from all over the county: not only was Burkey well represented, but Al pha, William", Beach and Sen tinel Butte were veil represented. Five automobile loads went out from Sentinel Butte alcne—and all who attended report a good thne. WIBAUX GAZETTE. Everybody's happy except the chronic grouch for the weather man has now visited all North Dakota with a drenching rain that gives weight to the pro phecies that the state is due fcr a big crop, it was a "million dol lar rain" coming as it did at the close of seeding, and best of all was general throughout the state. 1 he cool weather of the early spring gave the crop plenty of root and hardihood and the re cent rains caused it to shoot up as grain can only grow in North Dakota.
