The horse wranglers are again busy. Deputy Sheriff -less of Golden Valley county and Mr. Stone of Sentinel Butte were in the neighbor hood Wednesday hunting a small bunch of horses stolen from the Crawford & Stone ranch 15 miles northeast of Sentinel Butte. It was thought the hcrses were either sold or traded out here. The suspects are said to be under arrest at Miles City. WILL'S CREEK ECHOES. Geo. Ferreel has shipped his beef The farmers here are very busy stacking grain. Mr. Skelton has been stack ing grain for J. C. Perry. Edward Skelton is hauling lumber for the John Ohlrich school house. Henry Periy and family were pleasant callers at the Savage home Sunday. Robert Perry has gone to Omaha with a beef shipment, but his work is well under way with Mrs. Bob Perry as manager. Willie Henderson is working there, also J. M. Perry, who has been employed for some time. Frank Reynolds had a very pleasant dream a few nights ago. He dreamed there was oil on his farm. The next even ing Mr. Hubbard and brother, Mr. Burns and perhaps some more from Baker came out to buy his farm, but .all in vain were their efforts. The Farmers!' elevator is doing a big business. C. H. Bares has now mov ed his stock to the city, William Ziinmers' residence is now nearly completed. The Northern Pacific rail road tank is now completed. Oscar G. Johnson will soon have a feed barn in operation. The Schulz and Thompson lumber sheds are now com pleted. Theo. Maanum now has his hardware stock ready for his par te ns. Mr. and Mrs. Bittenbender visited at the home of John Mindles last week. The Christiansen store, is now almost complete with a large stock of merchandise. A. D. Gordon and family left for Kulm, N. D., after an extended visit with relatives in this section. Mrs. W. Notices have been issued asking for applications for the position as postmaster for the new town of Golva. It is un ikely that the Burkey post of fice will be discontinued. Hoffman Bros, of Beach will in a few days have com" pleted the largest store build ing in the town of Golva and will conduct a modern meat market and grocery in that town. The new enterprise fills a new need at the pro gressive town and there is but little doubt but that the new enterprise will be a winner. Youells visited with Mrs. E. V. Miller Saturday. Ernest Johnston and John Zeller drove a herd of cattle home from the Piesik ranch Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ulve, with Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Blue autoed to Edgehill, Mont., Sunday to visit with relatives. Mrs. O. W. Youells was called to the death-bed of her grandmother, Mrs. Downer, on Tuesday of last week. The body was taken to Moristown, Minn., for burial. BRENIZER. Threshing is on in full blast in this locality. Miss Parent was a Beach visitor in Beach last week. Mrs. Hilt entertained the Ladies' Club on Thursday af ternoon. Mrs. T. W. Davis left for Beach, where she entered the Stcugh hospital for treat ment. It is hoped that she will soon be recovered. CARLYLE. Mrs. Sarah Anderson left for her home in Vienna, 111., last week. Mr. and Mrs. Art Baker were visitors at the Honnold home last week. Rev. Whitaker of Alpha was among the visitors in the city during the last week. Mr. and Mrs. Dilliard Car lock are back from Carlock, 111., where they visited with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Brily Douglas were among those who attend ed the U. B. conference held at Fairview last week. Mrs. Oscar Simpson of Cus ter, Mont., arrived last week and will remain in the city dur ing the coming season. Misses Madge Honnold and Hilma Anderson were among those who attended a dancing party at Edgehill last week. Bishop Fout and family were among the visitors in this locality last week previous to their return to Indianapolis, Indiana. In the construction of the siding at Carlyle workmen discovered a very large sand pit which will materially aid in building operations at the new town. The Mandan lumber build ings have been made more at tractive as the result of a new coat of paint. John K. Tatley of Ollie was a business visitor at Beach Monday. Read his ad. in this issue of the Optic Ollie indeed is making some headway judging from the building activity that contin ues in the city. If the party who took Mr. McColeman's spectacles from his shop in Ollie will return same to the Chronicle office he will receive three dollars, and no questions asked. Len Olson of Nielsville, Minn., is visiting with his cou sin, John K. Tatley. This is Mr. Olson's first visit to the Golden Valley and he is very much pleased with the coun* t-y. Some wear ankle watches some wear ankle bracelets and others wear ankle bouquets, but Ida Jones wore an ankle revolver, and that was the reason she was arraigned in district court. Although she told Judge Page it was the latest style in woman's apparel, the judge could not see it that way and fined her $5.00.
