There is no surer indication of state prosperity than that shown by bank conditions and in that connection it is interesting to note' the comparative statements of the state banks of North Dakota .which hasjtist been published by'the new bank examiners. This state ment shows that the state banking in stitutions of North Dakota are in ex cellent condition and that there has been an improvement during the past few months. The statelaent shows that there has been an increase of loans and dis counts of $1,410,422.52 from February 2 to April 4, and during the same time the holding of real estate other than that upon which the .banking buildings are located has increased $138,807.31. Deposits subject to check show a gratifying increase of $1,731,430.28 while demand certificates of deposit have increased to the tune of $98,955. 64 with the time certificates of de posit taking a jump up of $1,087, 597.12. Saving deposits show an in crease of $61,983.36. The report as a whole shows that the banks of the state are in good condition and that their condition has been materially improved during the past two months. Chester Shrum who was recently operated on for appendicitis is report ed to be improving rapidly. FOUR ROOM BRICK SCHOOL BUILDING FOR PILLSBURY, NORTH DAKOTA.
