Overgaard & Larson, the painters, are doing the painting and interior decorating at the Valley City Grpcery company's new building. A. B. Rindfleisch, of Sioux City,' is in the city. Mrs. Rindfleisch was also an arrival in the city Friday, and they are registered at the Valley Hotel. Fargo Courier-News: T. Melvin Lee, secretary of the Middlewest Loan & Trust Co., of Valley City, was a call er at local banking institutions yester day. Mrs. F. C. Garst and sons went to Leeds on Wednesday to visit at the home of Mr. Garst's sister for a few days this week. They are expected to return to the city Saturday. N. A. Norstrom left on No. 2 Satur day evening to visit for a week at his parental home in Minneapolis. He will also attend the Minnesota state fair while gone. All traveling men and their families are invited to attend the dancing party given by the members of the Travel ing Men's association Saturday even ing in the Odd Fellows hall. Francis Gregory has returned to the city from Des Moines, Iowa, where he has been visiting since June. While gone he also visited at Jefferson, Cres ton and other points' in southern lows.. J. L. Chandler, of Minneapolis, and A. L. Shidler, of Mitchell, S. D. visited the city on Friday, stopping at the Valley Hotel. The gentlemen were making an auto trip from Minneapolis to Mitchell. Mrs. Fred Brewster returned to her home at Bismarck on Sunday evening, after spending the week at the home of Mrs. A. Beecher Cox, on North dTifth avenue. The week previous Mrs. Brewster was the guest of Mrs. Mary Bordwell, at the Keene home on West Fifth street, having spent the past fortnight here. Miss Marian Phillips, who has been the guest of Miss Irene Leim bacher in Fargo for the past ten days, will also return Friday evening. The Dr. Stixrud family, of LitchviHe, were visitors in Valley City on Sun day, and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Weston while in the city. N. Pederson, the real estate man, and his family, returned to the city on -Saturday evening from Brookings, S. D., where they have been visiting with friends and Mr. Pederson has been looking after farming interests in that locality. He returned to Fargo again on Tuesday morning. Mrs. Harry Costigan was an arrival in the city on Sunday morning from Seattle, Wash., for a visit at the home of her parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Featherstone on West Fourth street. Mrs. Costigan came over the Great Northern route, coming out from Far go Sunday, Mrs. W. T. Craswell and Miss Anna K. Cook returned to the city on Sun day morning from a pleasant vacation trip. They went west over the Soo line and Canadian Pacific railway, stopping at Lake Louise and points }n the Canadian Rockies on their way to the coast. They made stops at Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, B. Shannon entertained a few lady friends from Sanborn at her home here on Saturday, eight ladies being present. The guests played cards for an hour, 500 being the game, after which they went to the matinee at the Rex, later returning to the Shannon home, where refreshments were served. Covers were placed far eight.
