In talking to S. T. Phillips of the Mechanics Construction Co.. last Tues day evening, we learned that the com pany had already secured the contract to build a large farm house near Val ley City and that they had secured the contract at a larger figure than the lowest bidder. They have been called upon already to give figures and esti mates upon a good many buildings, and the success cf the company is practically assured. Robertson was a business -vis itor at Fargo for a few days the latter part of last week, going down Friday and returning Monday noon. Miss Vilie Vaupel, who has been em ployed at the L. C. Miller home for the past month, returned to her home at Valley City Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. C. Hansen and children and their guest, Mrs. John son, autoed to Fargo Saturday after noon and spent Sunday visiting vritk friends. Albert Holland, of Fargo, was business visitor here for a few days the first of the week. Albert made the trip up from Fargo in his old Stude baker car, Betsy. Rev. N. I. Berg received a letter from Prof. Gisle Bothne, of the uni versity of Minnesota, who at present is taking his vacation and visiting wKli friends and relatives in this state, stat ing that he expects to come to Nome and spend several days visiting with them. Rev. Berg, when talking with Bothne was a very entertaining and interesting speaker and thought it would be possible to get him ter speak some evening during his visit here, that he is proficient in both Norwe gian and English, and that he would be willing to speak in either or hotb languages. In all probability, If he Is secured to speak some evening there will be bills posted far enough in ad vance for all to know, and by keep ing in close touch with Rev. Berg yon will be able to find the exact date that he will be here. L. E. Green has purchased the Ford touring car of C. K. Myhre. E. Liljenberg spent Sunday visiting with his family at Valley City. Cashier Oien, of Lucca, was a call er in town for a few hours Tuesday evening. Prof. J. F. Taylor returned home Sunday morning and spent sevens days with his family here. C. K. Myhre returned home Satur day evening from a short trip in the northwestern part of the state. Bernard King is assisting at the Quality drug store at present, filling the vacancy left by Ole Berg. Nesse, of Enderlin, are out. The mar riage will be held at the St. Peter church Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 6. Both the young people are well known in this community, Miss Johanna hav ing been raised on her father's farm near here and the doctor has bees practicing medicine in this commun ity the past few years. Mr. and Mrs. Orpen and children, of Fergus Falls, Minn., arrived Tuesday evening and remained here until this morning visiting at the C. K. Myhre home.
