EL Simmons, of Pana, 111., is here visiting his son, Dr. C. E. Simmons. Rev. John Crossman left Tuesday on a trip to Sheboygan Falls, Wis. Mrs. Isaac Ellifson arrived home Sunday from a Week's visit at Plaza. James Monroe has rented the Stein cottage and moved into the same on Monday. Mrs. Alex Karr and daughter, of Spiritwood, were Wimbledon visitors Wednesday. Elmer and Ralph Jarvis and their wives made an auto trip to Woodworth on Sunday. T. X. Calnan went- to Jamestown Thursday, morning to be one of the Judges at the Stutsman county fair. J. L. iMore returned Wednesday morning from a business trip to Co lumbus and Portal. Miss Eva An&nson went to Valley City Saturday, where she spent Sun day with her folks. John 'More, of Fargo, left Tuesday after spending a few days here with the J. L. More family. Russell Fox, who was employed at T. A. Moore's confectionery, left Sat urday for Waterloo, Iowa. A. J. Nichols and family autoed to Carrlngton on Sunday. They called' on Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Thompson. Joe Goyness is the owner of a new Saxon six roadster which he recently purchased of Dr. C. E. Simmon. Win. McDonald came up from Leal a few days ago and has taken up quar ters at the Columbia hotel. Mrs. M. Marquisee and daughter vis ited Valley City relatives from Satur day until Monday evening. Mrs. C. B. Allen, of Seattle, Wash., arrived here Friday to visit a few weeks at the Albert Brueske home. R. R. Brueske returned a few days ago from Alexander, where he was looking after his farming interests. Thos. Flewell, Fred Carlson and Larry Downing went to Jamestown with their horses Monday to partici pate in the races at the county fair. 1 J. E. Mike Kronebusch, mail carrier of Route No. 2, has a two weeks' vacation and has gone to Winona, Minn., on a visit. Chas. Carl is carrying mail during the former's absence. Hugh Weston, formerly employed in the News office, returned Monday and resumed his former position. He spent the summer at Detroit, Minn., where he was employed with the De troit Record. GETCHELL PRAIRIE Mrs. Chas. Whitcher and daughter, Harriet, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Brown, at Pillsbury. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Rogers and daughter, Dorothy, and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Rogers were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. White and family at supper Sunday evening. Mrs. Wm. Martin entertained Mrs. J. H. White, Mrs. M. M. White, Mrs. W. W. Harper, Mrs. S. E. Harper and Mr. and Mrs. Y. S. Savaides and son, Theodore, at dinner Wednesday. Jimmie Getchell spent Sunday night with his Grandpa and Grandma Whit cher. Mrs. Fred Getchell and Mrs. Wood bury spent Friday afternoon visiting with the two Mrs. Wilsons. •Mrs. Chilberg, Evelyn Downs and Clarence Chilberg were guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. M. White and family at supper Sunday evening. The Ladies' Aid Society met with Mrs. J. H. Whitcher last Thursday. All the young people of the Prairie met at the school house for their first Bible meeting. After the meet ing they had a wiene roast and played games. Grangaard and family spent Monday evening visiting with friends in Valley City. Miss Jennie Hunter left Monday evening for Wimbledon for a few days visit with friends. Miss Isabelle McTarvish left for her home in Leal after spending several weeks in this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stearns autoed over to Jamestown Saturday for a short visit with relatives. Miss Francis Kelly came up from Sanborn the latter part of last week for a short visit with friends. G. O. Gilbertson and family of Val ley City moved onto the Mart Mason farm near Rogers the first of the week. Harry Kirby left for Minneapolis Tuesday evening after spending the past few months around in this vicin ity. Mrs. Stanley Yule and her sister, Miss Christine Myers left for their home in South Haven, Minn., being called there by the sudden death of their mother. Mrs. Jasper Sweet returned home Saturday from Valley City where she spent a couple of weeks visiting with relatives and friends. Alfred and Clifford Colville left Tuesday evening for Oriska, N. D., where they will attend the wedding their cousin, Myrtle Curtis. Mrs. B. M. Kellogg and children left Tuesday evening for Montreal, where they will spend several weeks visiting at the home of her parents. If winter don't meet us too soon we'll see a lot of early fall plowing this year, as people expect to make up for the proceeding year. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mason left Fri day evening for their home in Pitts burgh, Pa., after spending several weeks visit at the Kiser home. Misses Marie Muehring and Anna Schmidt left Monday evening for their home in South Haven, Minn., after spending several months In this vicin ity. Miss Grace Lund came home from an over Sunday visit with home folks. She returned to Valley City Monday evening to resume her studies at the Normal.
