PAQE FOUR GETCHELL PRAIRIE March 6.—Harriet and Edna Whitch er are spending several days at the Elm Grove farm. iMr. and Mrs. Fred G-etchell and family spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Whitcher. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Marsh are moving from Valley City to Percy Per son's farm north of Valley City, where they will make their future home. Edna and Harriet Whitcher spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. Savai des. The Mesdames Ed. Holcomb, John Penstad and George Stiles entertained the two clubs in the church basement Thursday. Mrs. R. C. Downs spent several days the early part of the week with Mr. and Mrs. Savaides. A number of Getchell Prairie men attended Mr. Lange's auction sale on Friday. Bernard Grotberg spent Sunday at the Ed. Holcomb home. Edna and Harriet Whitcher spent Monday at the Wm. Ronzheimer home. Mr. Crandall, of Sanborn, spent Sat urday night and Sunday at the Elm Grove farm. LOGAN March 4.—A few of the neighbors gathered at the Gust Vogel home Sat urday evening. All who were present report a very good time. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Toovey transact ed business in Valley City Saturday. Miss Stella Martin, after spending Sunday at home, returned to Valley City Monday, to resume her duties at the Normal. Tom Brown called at Will Martin's Sunday. Lee spent Sun day at the Ole Maasjo home near Fin gal. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Pederson are the parents of a ten-pound baby girl, born Thursday night. Christ Myhre returned last Sunday from the Twin Cities, where he had been on a business visit. Mrs. E. D. Spear was a visitor at the home of Mrs. C. K. Myhre for a few days the first of the week. A seven and one-half pound girl was horn to Mr. and Mrs. Selmer Gilbert son, of Eastedge, Monday morning. Anton Fried returned Monday morn ing from a few weeks* sojourn on the Pacific coast. He left here right after Christmas, going to Hunter's Hot Springs, Mont., where he remained two weeks. He went from there to Los Angeles, Cal., and also visited Wimbledon folks at Long Beach and San Diego. He says the weather was the coldest southern California has ex perienced for many years, hotels with heat being much in demand. Mr. Fried came home by the way of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Butte, Mont., and his journey was much delayed by the superabundance of snow even in Utah. John W. Cox, with wife and two children, arrived here from Abingdon, 111., a few days ago and will make Wimbledon their home. A couple of years ago Mr. Cox purchased of the Dennstedt Land Co. the west half of section 27, in'Dover township, and he will move out on his farm within a couple of weeks. Mr. Cox is an up-to date farmer who believes in diversifi cation and the virtues of the dairy cow. He brings with him some blood ed cattle and horses to start with. He has farmed successfully for years in Illinois, which assures his success in North Dakota.
