Chicago—Corn bears were more
puzsled by yesterday's advances than
those In any other. Local traders and
commission houses were said to have
bteen heavily short of corn, waiting for
May liquidations and a decline to cov
er at a profit and get along on the
breaks.
Chicago—Export sale of cash wheat
yesterday were 200,000 and 400,000
bushels of oats. Domestic demand for
cash corn was fairly active. Cash oats
sold readily to tho domestic trade and
shipping sales at Chicago aggregated
250,000 bushels.
Kansas City—Partly cloudy, rain
last night. Mexico, Mo., clear, fine,
good rain last night. Ct. Louis, Illinois,

this morning on good rains in the win
ter wheat territory and lower cables
from Liverpool. Shortly after tho
opening the market turned very firm
and a sharp advance was then regis
tered. May wheat sold down to
$1.46 7-8c early In the session and aft
erwards advanced to $1.48 1-2, closing'
at $1.47 8-4.
July wheat touched $1.40 5-8 and
then advanced to $1.42, closing at
$1.41 3-8. Argentine cable' reported
rains there.
Weather reports from the spring
wheat territory both in Canada and
the United States favorable for plant-"
ing the spring wheat.
Liverpool spot wheat market closed
unchanged to 1-2 lower.
