SABOTAGE
MIKE McCLUSKEY is agin the reds and such,
says no man's a radical if he amounts to much. Mike
McCluskey says he knows exactly what's their dodge

hang all these doggone radicals what are not worth a dang.
Festus gays these men don't want to get a living wage. Fes
tus says they would commit what he calls sabot-age. (Fes
tus Jimson's running stores all scattered round this land,
and got his pile by mixing up some sugar with his sand.)
Peter Tophet quite agrees with all that's here been said
Peter's mighty bitter when he talks against a "red." Peter
says it's just as plain as if they wore a badge he declares
they're always up to doing sabotage. (Peter owns a clothing
store and Peter Tophet rose by getting all-wool prices for
shoddy, worthless clothes.)
Now, of course, we couldn't think of calling Mike a "red"
Festus, he and Peter look upon that word with dread. Neither
could we rightly this accusation lodge—that any of this trio
could think of sabotage. Calling paper leather, selling sug
ared sand—these are honored businesses, look where these
men stand! Selling shoddy clothing, gaining wealth im
mense, isn't sabotage at all, that's good, scand business sense!
