Strang, one of Lenunon's most prominent phy sicians, and his chauffeur, Chan. Wilson, narrowly escaped death when the car in which they were riding, turned turtle near Morristown last Monday morn ing. Dr. Strang had been called to Morristown on a case, late Sun day night and, with his driver, started for that city about one o'clock Monday morning, driving an Oakland Six. About two miles west of Morristown, there is a very steep hill, which has probably a 60 per cent grade and immediately at its base is located a bridge of wooden con struction. The car had nearly ascended the incline, when the engine was killed which result ed in the car backing down the hill. The brakes failed to work and the momentum of the car increased to such an extent that it was impossible for the driver to keep it in the road, with the result that the car crashed over the edge of the bridge striking n the rear end and turning completely over backwards. In some manner Strang managed to get away from the car, while the driver was found curled up tin der the seat, wheiv he was saved from being crushed by the wind shield and the back of the seat With the exception of slight bruises, both escaped unscathed.
