He has been the com mander of Chamberlin Post, and has been many years its efficient adjutant, and in every way an hon ored and valued member. He is a member and deacon of the South Congregational church and active )y identified with its scrvice. Ali these activities in which he ha. given unsparingly of his time and experience has pi'evented him from giowing old in anything but cal endar years. In heart and spirit, he is young and vigorous and the celebration Saturday was fitting appreciation of his valuable sei-vice to the community and the warmth of the greetings expressed the wai'm place he holds in the regards of a wide circle of friends and ac-quaintanees.
