George Chase of Meredith, was shot and killed by a boy com panion, Charles McConnick. The boys vere hunting birds and had separate!. Young Chase peered ovu a stone wall, vhen McCon nick, mistaking his companion for a partridge, fired, the rifle bullet critering young Chase's head and kili'ng him instantly.
