Reynolds, of Judsou ia, came in Wednesday, to be the guest of her daughter, Mrs. E. E. Jeffries, for a few days. Misses Allie and Nina Beard, of Howell, were the guests of Mrs. Dr. Wortham Friday and Saturday. They left Sunday for Augusta. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Comer re turned home Saturday, after a very pleasant stay with friends and relatives in Huntingdon, Tenn. —We are not in the Grocery business, but have about $1,500 worth to be sold cheaper than they can be bought elsewhere. Respectfully, G. W. Cullum. As a proof of the value of the fertile soil in and surrounding our town and community we present the following to our read ers. Our friend, Dr. L. A. Jelks, Monday morning, handed us 3 fine large tomatoes, weighing 3$ pounds. The largest one weighed 21 ounces. He informed us that the largest he had gathered, so far, weighed 25 ounces. Here is a list of those gathered by the Doctor Monday morning. Three toma toes weighing 3$ lbs., 7 weighing 8 lbs., 10 weighing 9 lbs., and 5 weighing 5 lbs., making a total of 25 tomatoes weighing 25$ lbs. He also gathered 23 weighing 16 lbs., making a sum total of 48 to matoes weighing 41$ pounds. The tomatoes are a species of the New Majestic and are very fine in deed.
