Mr.. Chas. H. Degenhardt of Alton, 111., spent Saturday and Sunday here looking after his land interests. Mrs. P. E. Files and chil dren returned Sunday from Enfield, 111., where she had been visiting relatives. Mrs. Cora Johnson who is in the sanitarium at Boonville is improving nicely and will re turn home about April 1. ‘ Mrs. Mace Bkd returned home today, Friday, from a two weeks’ visit to her neice, Mrs. Willie Abies at Huffman. Mr. O. K. Porter< who is employed as meat cutter in a market at El Dorado, is spend ing this w,eek with his family here. Mrs. W. B. Fakes left yes terday, Thursday, afternoon for a visit to her - aunt, Mrs. Robert Chesshire at Cotton Plant. Mrs. Joe Spradlin of Arling ton, Tex., is visiting her neice Mrs. J. L. Bronte of this city and her sister Mrs. W. W. Beede, of Beedhville. Miss Blanche Powell re turned home Friday from Memphis. Mrs. Jas. Foster of Wynne was the guest* of her mother, Mrs. M. E. Powell, last weeks. Rev. Guy Murphy will head the program of the Searcy District Sunday School Insti tute to be held at Kensett, Wednesday, March, 30. Mir. H. W. Jernigaa, pres ident of the Bank of McCrory, j attended fhe meeting . of j Group No. 2 of the Arkansas,, Bankers Association in New port last week. Mrs. W. W. Beede who has been ill at the home of Mr. • and Mrs. J. L. Bronte the past six weeks was able to return to her home at Beedeville W ednesday. , Mr. Wade Jeffries who is; employed by McCrory & Mitchell, road builders, at I Daggett, near Cotton Plant, spent Saturday and Sunday here with home folks. Mr. Carl Taylor who has been attending Draughon’s Business College, Little Rock, arrived Friday to spend a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Taylor.^ On Wednesday March, 19, 1921, the stork visited Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Willis, and left; with them a dear little baby 1 girl, Helen Kyle, who tipped j the scales at 7 pounds. YORK-BRIGHT Quite to the surprise of their many friends on Tuesday after noon, March the first, Miss Virginia York and Mr. Frank Bright were quietly married: at the home of Mfr\ and Mrs.! Joe McGregor. The parlor was sinmply, yet, prettily decorated with ferns and spring flowers, thereby; forming a place for the cere mony. Promptly at Three-Thirty o’clock, to the tune of Men delssohn’s wedding march, rendered by Mrs. McGregor, entered Miss York and Mr. Bright where they were met by Rev. F. E. Dodson, pastor of the M. E. Church, who in a very impressive way, perform ed the marriage ceremony. The bride was very becom ingly attired in a handsome suit of blue tricotine with ac cessories to match and wore a beautiful corsage bouquet. Mr. and Mrs. Bright left on the four o’clock train for a short visit with relatives in Lit tle Rock. While the couple were giv ing their many friends a big surprise, a few surprised them by learning of their marriage and being present, v Those present were: Mes dames Paul Hill, S. Bush, E. E. Hix of Beedeville was in McCrory on business Saturday. Mr. H. M. Raney of Mem phis, Tenn., who is located at Wynne for a few weeks where he is auditing the county’s books for a period covering the past eight years, was in McCrory Monday night, the guest of ye editor.
