POLITICAL POT BEGINNING TO SIMMER The meeting of the yoomenry of this county here attending cir cuit court has started the talk of the next political campaign, and there are many of our citizens who are ready to throw their hats in the ring for different offices. Hon. G. R. Haynie, our prosecuting "Attorney is being urged by his friends to get in the race for Circuit Judge of this Judicial 1 District. Hons. J. 0. A. Bush, Duncan McRae and Walter Murrah are mentioned as probable candidates for State Senator. J. A. Bailey, the pre sent circuit Clerk will be opposed by C. C. Calhoun at present bookeeper for the Prescott Hard ware Company. J. W. Franks will in all probability have no op osition this time, the same can perhaps be said of County Judge J. M. Thomas, and also Fred Wal lis will have smooth sailing for Tax Assessor, as far as we are able to prophesy at present. Dink Cox, County Treasurer, is serv ing his first term and no one has been spoken of as aspiring to his job vet. For Representative, there .will be plenty of worthies, that want to save the country at Little Rock when that august body meets in 1915. Joe Meadow and Dave Martin are talked of some, and several others that may get in the race. For sheriff, there will be a hot scramble, Ed Hood, of Emmet, Henry Holloway, the present deputy, Sam Munn, K. W. Burk, and John Daly Parker have been mentioned, and the first three named, are avowed candidates. Within the next few weeks the friends of all the aspirants will begin to line up and then the pot will begin to boil. In sever ‘ - 1 al counties the state primary will be held on one date and the county on another. It has been the custom here to hold both to gether and we see no reason for changing it.
