When a man grows hay to prevent buy ing, why not grow the most nutritious wherever practicable, leed one or two acres of the >est well drained land on the place in red clover, crimson or bar clover before October 10th, i.nd prepare the soil well by reaking, diskingand harrowing. 1 loculate the field either by us ig soil from a field of the same •op or by means of artificial i .oculation material secured from tie United Slates Department Agiiculture, through the cjunty demonstration agent or . le College of Agriculture at ayetteville. The clovers are not only valuable for hay pur poses, but are among the most aluable winter cover crops. s We can never hone to settle ind develop the South, we can never hope to get the best class f Northern and Western far lers to come South, if they lust settle in neighborhoods half white and half black. But ; ley would come and come quick v to homogeneous all-white com munities. I have letters from 1 sections of the North bearing on this point, and I have the testimony of some of the fore most railway authorities in the country. Race segregation in land ownership is indeed the first -tep toward securing for the South that denser population of intelligent, useful white citizens without which she is forever handicapped. —The Progressive Farmer. DR. SAMUEL B. GEE Specialist Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat SPEIIAl ATTENTION GliEN TO GLA'S FITTING 0 lice:-Nevada County Bank Building Prescott, Arkansas FALL BREAKING PAYS THE FARMER ~~ If you will take the time to look around and see the prosperous in farming you will find every time that it is the man who turns his land as early as his crop is off, and there by enriches the soil by turning under the grass, weeds, peavines, stubble, etc. It is a fact that nothing will pay as much as to look after this important part at this time of the year This will lessen the necessity of commercial fertilizer and keep your land strong longer than to fertilize with commercial fertilizer, and costs nothing but your labor.
