Ark., June 16. — The federal grand jury here late today returned indictments against four lo cal wholesale grocery houses on charges of violating the terms of the Lever act. the indictments charging that the defendants sold sugar at prices which brought an unreasonable profit. In each indictment with the ex ception of one. the charge is made that sugar was purchased by the de fendant at 12 1-2 cents a pound and sold at between 27 and 28 cents. The one exception, the indictment shows the defendant purchased sugar at about 27 cents. The information states that more than 333,000 pounds of sugar were involved in the transaction.
