Mr. J. B Lantz, of Bclvidere.
Illinois, is visiting at the home of
J. K. Muller. Mr. Lantz will prob
ably remain for the summer and
is thinking strongly of making
this his home. On Tuesday eve-,
ning his friend, W. A. Krator, also
of Bclvidere, came in and is look-'
ing over the country.
The Delta County Sunday
School Convention will meet in '
Paonia at the M K. church on
April 20 and 21 The programme
is quite extended and we cannot
print in full and an abridgement
would be worse than nothing so
we leave the matter for those in 1
tercstcd to attend and find out.
Jac Stich, a fruit buyer from
New Orleans, was in town this
week. He aem'ts that he has;
been trying to get along Without
patronizing Colorado, but says
that Arkansas and Missouri fruit j
will no longer answer the demand
of the Crescent City. He will
take a lot of North Fork apples
this fall if he can get them.

At the last meeting of the
Paonia Woman's Club the prize
offered for essay writing in
several giades of the public
school was withdrawn owing to
the fact that the announcement
had been neglected in some of
the rooms thus giving an advant
age to some and placing others
under decided handicap. The
prizes will doubtless be renewed
next year when all can start (air.
The next meeting of the club
will be held at the residence of
Mrs. E J, Mathews.
Two very pretty Easter displays
were the ones put in by the Pa
oni* drug stores. Dunbar &
Williamson tiyed a brood ot
chickens in ail the color’s and
placed them and their snow white
mother in the window, while Mr
Welborn trimmed up his window
with a great doll playing a harp
Both attracted much attention.
