Mr. John Bush left Wednesday for Le >ii, Kansas to visit relatives. They both report a very enjoyable time, but were glad to get home again. The Farmers State bank held a meeting Wednesday. Mr. T. A. George Berg<*es, who lias been vis iting In South Dakota, returned re cently, accompanied by Carl Dauben dlck. He drove from Julesburg to White River. South Dakota in a little more than a day, the distance being four hundred and sixty miles. They motored through different parts of South Dakota, Wyoming. Colorado and Nebraska. They found the black Hills very Interesting and spent se. eral days there. They also visited Loveland and Denver. The boys say the Black Hills scenery was even more interesting than the mountains near Denver.. NOTICE The school board of district No. 65. Venango, Nebraska will receive bids until 10 a. m.. Some parts of the country suited them, while other parts did not. They found it very dry. In. some places. George made about two thousand miles with his Dodge. Venango School Notes Omer Parker started to school last Monday. Verna Morton was absent from school last Friday afternoon. The new basket balls and goals have arrived for the gymnasium.
