Samples left on Monday for a visit with relatives at Miloh, Mo. Mrs. Ida Sigman returned Wednesday from a visit with relatives in Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs Cary Badger movdd back to town this week from their ranch home. A. J, Stewart and daughter, Mrs. W. E. Burton, spent Sunday in Colorado Springs. Sen. Swink and daughter, Mrs. Chas. Daring, are expected home today from Minnesota. / W. B. Mandeville returned on Tuesday from a business trip to Kansas City and St. Joseph. F. J. Crozier was up from Walsenburg last week, visiting old friends and taking in our big fair. Mrs. Mary Porter of Loogootee, Ind., is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Bow man, and family. Dr. Weaver left for New York last week on business connected with the First Presbyterian church. Miss Cora Lance returned last week from a pleasant vacation visit with rela tives and friends in Cabot. Vt. Mrs. Mary Kreider arrived from Den ver Sunday for an extended visit at the home of her son, E. T. Kreider. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bowman return ed to Florence on Sunday, after a pleas ant visit with Rocky Ford relatives and friends. The union church services in City park, which have proven quite popular this summer, will close with next Sunday evening. Bert Beymer and wife returned last week from their enjoyable outing at Bow erman. Of course they got home for Watermelon Day. Miss Carolyn North left on Tuesday morning for Roswell, N. M., to take up her duties as supervisor of music in the schools of that city. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Burrell left for Woodward, lowa, on Friday, after a pleasant visit with the former’s brother, D. V. Burrell, and family, W, B. McMillan went up to Denver on Monday night and spent next day on an outing to Eldorado Springs with his for mer employes, Messrs. Black and Lind say. Mrs. Mary Kl.inefelter and son, Lee. expect to leave tomorrow for Fort Collins where the latter will enter the Agricult ural college for a course in electrical engineering. A delightful time is reported tc have been spent by all. Miss Sara J. Bobinette spent last Sa - urday and Sunday in Rocky Ford, the guest of Mrt. Paul M. North. She was returning from an extended visit east anc on her way to Denver to take up her school duties as a member of Denver's public school teaching force. Bert R. Gregg left Monday for Hit Springs, Ark., to try the baths for an attack of rheumatism. Some two years ago Mr. Gregg was given up to die but a few months stay at the Springs brought him through, and he hopes that a perma nent cure may be effected this time. Miss Mary Shumate has just returned from a most delightful summer’s outing, refreshed and rested to resumf her work in our schools. Miss Shumate spent the entire three months in extensive travel along the Pacific coast, where she attend ed for six weeks the California State Normal at San Diego, While playing about near her home cn Tuesday the little daughter of Dr. and Mrs. P. P. Keck was knocked down by a speeding auto At first it was thought that she had been run over, but this is not believed possible, as no bones were broken. The little one was quite severe ly bruised, but no dangerous injury was sustained and she will be all right again in a few days. Mr. A, W. Christensen, who has been visiting his brother-in-law, J. T. Rasmus sen, left last Saturday for Montana, where he will visit with his son. Mr. Christensen is a Nebraska grain and cattle man and while here took in our Fair. Before leaving he said he could truthfully say that in his jjdgment, Rocky Ford was tne best town and had a greater future before it than any town he had ever visited.
