Jl. SUMMtHd, Box 34, -Notre Kamo, tml., U. S. A. THE GREAT PRESIDENTIAL CAM PAIGN OF 1900. Tlie wars of America have, heretofore, settled allairs of state. Greal questions of policy, of national motives and national confusions have been answered os soon as the battle smoke cleared away, and the victor realised his vicory. The war with Spain is unlike its predecessors. It has not auswered questions, but has created problems which may not be solved lightly. These problems are being formulated by the political parties, and before they can be definitely settled at the ballot box it is necessary that the people be informed iu regard to the situation. The result of the cuui' paign of 1900 will make a broad mark upon the pageof history; it will doubtless establish the policy of the great Republic of America for a quar ter of a century. It is vastly important, therefore, that every citizen shall study tho situation through that best of mediums, a great newspaper. Tin most reliable newspaper, the best newspaper, is the Seini.Weekly Republic, which affords a comprehensive view of the political situation in all iln bearings. It publishes the new news. The Semi-Weekly Republic is f. Democratic paper, but it offers to its readers the news regard ing all Un political parties, and this without prejudice. Ttis a fair newspaper. Its telegraph and cable news service has been proved to be the best employed ley s modern paper. Its special features are unsurpassed. It is the news paper for Urn reader who has not the access to a daily paper. News features, art and literature combine to make The Republic’s Sunday Nagaaina a specially attractive weakly magazine. The half-ton® illustra tions printed iu Ibis magazine surpass anything ever attempted by a newar papoi. These product* of pboSogfpkf nvs worth tbe price of the paper. ; Special articles by trained writers on the news and the subjects engaging the public* attention are prepared for The Republic’s Sunday Magazine. A distinctly useful and attractive feature of this magazine is the fashion de partment. Always reliable und up with the times, the lauies will find the fashion page a delight, indeed, The Republic’s Sunday Magazine appeals to every member of tho family - ! The subscription price of the Semi-Weekly Republic is $l.OO per year. Thb Republic Sunday* Magazine $1.25 per year. Both papers arc now being offered at tho very low prieo of $1.50 for one year.
