She departed for Denver Wednesday to receive treat ment nnd her many friends wish for her speedy recovery. William Leach informs us that he has completed the work of digging nine acres of white potatoes which weighed out an average yield of 4,(XX; pounds per acre. This is the best yield reported to us this year nnd is not bad for a dry year in a 11011-irrigated country. Gordon Jones, president of the Elbert County bank, and the Union Stock Yards bank at Denver, and Colin 8. Campbell, enable*- of the Union Stock Yards bank, came out from Denver Sunday evening and remained until Monday evening on business connected with tho local bank. The ladies aid society met with Mes datnes Watts and Lnlleen at tho Watts home northwest of town last Thursday and spent a delightful day. They were served with an excellent dinner. Today the ladies of the society go to Kiowa to meet and take dinner with Mrs. Frank Long. i B. M.
