Raymond Farmer, pastor of the Christian church, southwest of Elbert, for the last year, will give up his charge here and go down into the San Luis val ley and file on a piece of government land. Ye editor can safely recommend the new Hotel Alamo, corner 17th and Market streets, Denver, as being strictly first class, with every modern convenience, and reasonable rates. We stop there ourselves. The masons gave a card party at Kiowa Friday night which was attended by more than 50 members of the order. It was reported a great success. Mr. and Vlrs. A. G., Evelyn and Harvey Com forth attended from Elbert. The spring season was ushered in Sat urday, and the days and nights are now about equally long. The meadow larks have likewise made their appearance and joined the blue birds and robins. Who ever saw an oriole in this locality? Joe Wheeler went to Denver Monday whero he expects to enlist in the regular army and to be assigned to the coast artillery on the Pacific coast.
