I OPERATED ON FOR APPENDICITIS' Miss Lois Dabney, laughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Dabney, was operated on a day or two ago at the hospital for appendicitis. Mr. Dean served < on this board four or five years dur- < ing his pastorate at I»veland, prior to going to Now Mexico. CLIMBED FREMONT PEAK. Several members of the boy's S. S. ♦ lass of tbe Presbyterian church led by Henry Palm went on a tramping expedition Saturday and climbed to the top of Fremont Peak. SPEND HONEYMOON HERE Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Downey of Rocky Ford, who were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson of Harrison ave.. for several days left for home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Downey, who was for merly Miss Louise McCart, were mar ried in Pueblo on Wednesday the sth of January, and then motored to Can on to spend their honeymoon. Mr,' Downey is a brother-in-law of Mr. Johnson's, and holds a position as machinist at the sugar factory in Rocky Ford. FRIDAY DENVER MAN HERE FOR VISIT H. A. Dean of Concrete, sister of Mrs. George Padgett, is in the hospital in Canon City. She under went an operation a week ago and is getting along nicely. GAMES POSTPONED. Tlio basket ball games to have been played tonight between the Cubs and Tigers end the Bears and Pirates at the Y. M. C. A., will be posU>oned until tomorrow night. A special train of four coaches carry ing a patry of the general officials of the Denver & Rio Grande railroad company on an inspection trip over the Colorado-Utah linos of the com pany passed thru Canon shortly after 8 o'clock this morning en route to Salida and points west. Among those in the party were Mr. Russell, gene ra! manager; Sweet, assistant to | the first vice president; W. E. Mil ler, general superintendent and Mr. Whitfield, general roadmaster. A., who is spending several days in Canon City in the interest of the work, gave an interesting talk on Y. M. C. Jewel and was busy for a few hours In greeting old friends. Rev.
