We-Are OkcUfJ
by Donald Rovie
On November 3rd we were
thankful to be a part of the An
niversary event of the First
American Indian Evangelical
Church of Los Angeles. This
church is dear to us because it
is the church where this pastor
was converted and where he was
launched as a missionary.
This event was a blessing in
many ways. The first being that
it is a wonderful knowledge that
there are many different tribes
of people here in this one
church in Los Angeles who know
Christ as their Savior and are
concerned about our unsaved
here on this reservation!" 'Th?
second being that there is in
the hearts of these people a love
so great that there are five men
who are concerned enough about
our people to come out here
to play Santa Claus to our chil
dren and adults on the week
end before Christmas. These
pien are singers, preachers, and
teachers of children so we are
looking forward to a wonder
ful time. Since this event will
take place next month we would
invite you, even now if you
don’t have a church to attend,
to come and share with us a
wonderful thought and blessing
of Christmas.
A definite date will be an
nounced later on so we hope
you will plan to attend and
share also with us the Christ
mas goodies to be distributed
at this time. This feeling of
Christmas may seem a bit pre
mature but are we aware of the
gift of God to us, namely His
son, Jesus Christ. This gift of

Sets New Visiting Hours
Commencing the first week
of November visiting hours for
the Hospital proper will be from
1:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. This
does not include the Gila Gen
eral Nursing Home.
Visitors will be asked to
check in and out at the visit
ors desk maintained in the Lob
by or Second Floor Nurses
Station. This desk in the Lob
by will be operated most of
the time by the Gila General
Auxiliary.
The Auxiliary will distribute
cards to visitors which entitle
them to visit a specific patient.
A limitation of two visitors per
patient will be strictly enforced.
This rule has been strongly en
dorsed by the Medical Staff of
the Hospital and by former
patients. In a Hospital which
has most of its rooms of the
two-bed classification, it is im
possible to permit more than
four visitors in these rooms at
any one time.
During treatments, nursing
procedures requiring privacy,
and meal hours; visitors will be
requested to absent themselves
until completion.
These new hours increase the
visitation time from a total of
three to seven hours.
It is hoped that the public
will make every effort to sup
port this new policy, which
Gla General feels will provide
better patient care.

God to us is never out of sea
son as we remember that “For
God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believet'n on Him
should not perish but have ever
lasting life.” May we be thank
ful that someone loves us so
much as to send His son to die
for our sins on Calvary’s Cross,
but that He did not remain in
the tomb but arose and is now
on the right hand side of God,
interceding for us. This is
Thanksgiving month and how
much we can be thankful for,
even the very life we have.
While,, we were in Los An
geles’ one of our very own peo
ple, Kitch Phillips, carried on
the Lord’s work in our church
here for which we are thankful.
It is a blessing to have one as
Mr. Phillips here on the reserva
tion.
