Confirmation held at church
Sunday, November 24th, was
an eventful day for a number
of people, who became com
municant members of the
church, and for the congre
gation that witnessed the Bap
tism and Confirmations.
To be baptized and to reveice
God’s grace and the forgiveness
of sins is in itself a blessing
that money can not buy. By
the confession of faith in the
Triune God to become members
of Holy Christian Church and
of the Communion of Saints is
also a blessing of heavenly
work.
Those baptized and also con
firmed after over a year’s in
struction were: Mr. Roy Coth
run and Mrs. Melissa D. Coth
run and Mr. Arnold Long.
Those who were confirmed, but
had not been baptized years
ago, were: Mrs. Naomi S. Har
ris, Mrs. Winey J. Hoffman,
Mrs. Bertha H. Clark. Juniors
confirmed were: Nella Cassa,
Imogene Cassa, Ruth Chapman,
and Brenda Hunter.
On Monday, November 25th,
a special Memorial Patriotic
Service was conducted at Grace
Lutheran Church to thank the
Lord for the blessings enjoyed
in our conutry during the ad
ministration of President J. F.
Kennedy, and to bow before
the Lord in repenting because

of God in the death of our late
President; and also to pray
for the Lord’s grace to bestow

the new President L. B. John

Apache Boys
on Team
This year Fort Thomas High
School had eleven Apache Boys
who were on the football team.
Os the six starters four were
Apaches.
The team went three for
three and got third place in
the Conference.
Our outstanding boys on the
Varsity Team were, Herbert
Goseyun, Leon Anderson, Kent
Delma, Wilkie Casoose and
Austin Titla.
According to Coach Edgar
McEuen, Herbert Goseyun has
been the most outstanding In
dian player the school has ever
had, both in football and basket
ball. Goseyun is in for all
conference quarterback and al
so for All State Quarterback.
Last year Goseyun was the
captain of the football team
and will undoubtedly be captain
again this year. Goseyun and
Anderson will really be missed
by the coach and team when
they leave the school upon
graduation.
Outstanding on the Freshman
team were Davis Dustin, Leo
Starr and Spencer Stannely.
Seven experienced boys with
sixteen prospective Freshmen
are the outlook for next year’s
team. One of the boys the
coach will be looking for will
be Paul Anderson Jr.

Cook-out
t
planned
By Shirly Patton, assistant
The Girl Scouts had a cook
out at Beaver Springs on No
vember sth. We all had a won
derful time.
The Scouts had made plans to
go Christmas Caroling the night
of December 23 at 6:00 p.m.
Also a Christmas Party after
wards. We have been busy mak
ing Christmas cards to be given
out to the shut-ins we visit.
Christmas season is the most
wonderful season to be thank
ful for. It means to freely give
a gift. This is what we Girl
Scouts are learning, to help
those that are less fortunate.
