Taxicab Service and How It Works TheRed Car Line and the Rules That Govern Its Operations The Virginia Taxi-Service Company, Incorporated, service is something new t° Richmond. It is service that has proven to In* a good thing in New York, in Wash ington, in Baltimore and many other cities. Richmond proposes to keep in the line, and as a matter of course it is not going to let Washington or Baltimore or any other up-to-date city get ahead. To keep right up-to-date the Virginia Taxicab Service Company are now using the taxi-meter in all their cars, having affixed the meters and put them in operation on all of their taxicabs. The rates are as follows: One or two passengers, day or night, first mile or fraction thereof, 50 cents; each quarter mile thereafter, 10 cents for the ear: each additional passenger. 20 cents; and each ,'ix minutes waiting, 10 cents. Passengers should see that the chauffuer turns the flag down when they enter the ear, and notice the- meter registers 50 cents for two people*. Should there Ik* three passengers, the meter -honld show 50 cents fare and 20 cents extra, making a total of 70 cents for the first mile or frac tion, and then 10 cents for each one-quarter mile thereafter, and 10 cents for each .-top of hx minutes Should there be any contention with chauffeur, pay him and take receipt for the amount, and report same to office, where all errors will be corrected and adjusted.
