Children May Lose School Privelege By Mis conduct of Parents. The supreme court has rendered a Very important decision. Its actions reverses what has generally been con sidered an established theory of gov ernment heretofore and will attract wide attention. The case in question came from Bar tow county and had been tried before Judge Fite, whose decision was re versed by the supreme court. The facts are these: Mrs. J. M. Purse had two children in one of the com nion schools of the town of Carters ville. One ot the children was guilty of some infraction of discipline and the teacher, Miss Hall, punished it. The mother was angered by this pun ishment and went to the school and, as Miss Ilall reported to the superin tendent, insulted her. The children were then suspended or expelled from school and an appeal was taken to the board of education by their mother. The board investigated and sustained t he teacher, with the alternative that if Mrs. l’urse would offer an apology to Miss Hall the children would be re -1 nstated, Mrs. Purse took the case into the court on a writ of mandamus, to com pel the reinstatement of her children and Judge Fite held that the board of education had no right to expel a child on acccound of an act done by its parents. If the parent had committed a breach the court held there was law enough to punish the parent. In reversing Judge Fite the supreme court takes the position that the right of a child to be educated in the com mon schools amounts only to the par ent being relieved of paying tuition, that the right is the right of the par ent to have his child educated, not a duty of the state to the child, and that the parent may lose his privilege in the common schools by his own mis conduct toward the school authorities. A Valuable Hint to Every Father and Mother. There are two kinds of babies in the world; the kind who have too little nourishment and the kind who have too much. The first kind of babies starve be cause their stomachs are too weak to digest the amount of food necessary for their growth and healthful devel opment and the other kind are over fed with the result that the delicate stomach and intestines are inflamed and as every mother knows, thous ands of infants die yearly when warm weather begins, from stomach and bowel disorders. Opiates, soothing syrups and ca thartics, however mild, are not what is demanded. Go to the root of the trouble, assist the child’s digestion, give the little stomach the aid neces sary to thoroughly and promptly di gest its food and the little one will thrive and grow and gladden the mother’s heart. To give perfect digestion to the child it is only necessary to give in a pleasant form the harmless digestive contaned in the well knowd tablets sold in drugstores under the name of Stuart.s Dyspepsia Tablets. Stuart’s Tablets contain no so called drugs, but are composed of pepsin, pure asep tic, fruit acids, starcb digestives and are put up in lozenge form, with sugar or milk, very pleasant to the taste and have been used for years as the safest, best remedy for any form of indigestion and stomach troubles in adults, but recently many remarkable cures have been made in the cases of weekly babies who fail to grow and thrive as they should. A Bulfalo mother a short time ago who despaired of the life of her babe was so delighted with the results from giving the child these tablets that she went before the notary pub lic of Erie Cos., N. Y., and made the following atlidavit: Gentlemen : Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tab lets were recommended to me for my two months old baby, which was sick and puny and the doctors said w’as suffering from indigestion. I took the child to the hospital, but there found no relief. A friend mentioned the Stuart Tablets and I procured a box from ray druggist and used only the large sweet lozenges in the box and was delighted to find they were just the thing for my baby. 1 feel justified in saying that Stu art’s Dyspepsia Tablets saved my child’s life. Mbs. W. P. Dkthlopf. Subscribed and sworn to before me this 12th day of April, 1597. Henry Karis, Notary Public in and for Erie Cos., N. Y. For babies, no matter bow young or delicate, the tablets will accomplish wonders in increasing fleeh, appetite and growrb. Use only the large sweet tablets in every box. Full sized boxes are sold by all druggists for 50 cents, and no parent should neglect the use of this safe remedy for all stomach and bowel troubles if the child is ailing in any way regarding its food or assimilation. Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tablets has been known for years as the best prepara tion for all stomach troubles whether in adults or infants. They Are Off.
