—Registration yesterday was slower
than usual. The number will hardly
go beyond 1,000.
—The “Goo Goos” discovered the er
ror on their banner yesterday, and
bad the missing *‘n” inserted. This
was their only chance to get “n.”
—lt is a ourrent rumor that Captain
W. M. Tupper, when he returned from
Maine, found a letter on his desk, ask
ing him to take a place on the “Goo
Goo” ticket. He respectfully deolmed.
—Bingham’s campaign paper failed
to appear yesterday. It is announced
that it will be issued the latter part of
the week. The “Herald,” it is said,
will be the name.
—Between health certificates and
registration, Clerk Bodet finds no leis
ure moments.

Storm signals are bamg displayed
along the coast, and the teasels are
keeping in port as long as possible.
Ths Norwegian bark Rex, Captain
Anderson, sailed yesterday for Bristol,
with a cargo of naval stores from the
Downing company.
The Norwegian steamship, which is
to load crossties from N. Emanuel A
Cos., is now en rout* here. Her oargo
will be very large one.
The Plant System now has three
piledrivers at work on its new
wharves.
The British steamship St. Fillans,
Captain Stabb will probably clear to
day.

Olerk Bodet ie Getting Many Names for the
Lyceum-
City Clerk Bodet is entitled to the
palm as a lyoeum worker. His list
leads all others in the number of
name* secured. Up to last night he
had 52 names, being over one-third of
the total number necessary.
If each of the other canvassers bad
done one-third as well as Mr. Bodet
the total membership required would
have been seoured long ago.
The total of members now secured
is 136. Only 16 more are netded.
Those added yesterday were P, H,
Mabry, Julius Levy, W. M. Tupper,
George W. Calvin and J. J. Wimberly.
